Buddy of mine was a DACA kid whose parents are extreme bolsanaro/trump nutjobs, and he is as well. They went so far as to get their own citizenship but demanded he earn his own. He was actually curious about my side of the story, but not because he could be persuaded of anything, he just wanted to hear what a leftist in this country thinks.
Dude was all about the machismo. He couldn't get a license but drove a truck anyway, wasn't allowed to own guns but bought them anyway, etc and was VERY paranoid about police and getting kicked out of the country. This was about 10 years ago almost.
He always said he'd vote for Trump if he could. Wonder where he is now.
Anecdotal, but from my time in school most people actually did. AP US history was the straw that broke the camel's back for all of the stu-co honors society top 15 kids I had that class with. The most hated class, just absolutely whinging about the sheer onerousness of the exam and study guide. My theory has always been their heads were already full to the brim with memorizing the physics and maths and other classes' materials. History is just too much to memorize and regurgitate like that, it requires thinking, and a lot of it. I came away from that experience with the understanding that a lot of people fucking hate thinking any more than they have to, even (or especially) a-political folks. Loved that class, we had an excellent teacher too. S-tier teacher, really cool guy.
Whatever you get make sure it has more than a couple years left of software update support. This sort of narrows the field, and you don't need to go Samsung for the full 5-7years or w/e their newest lines will have, but make sure it's not essentially software EOL in the next couple years. Look for more like 3-5y out.
