  • testregex is an absolutely wild suffix

  • I took this in the spirit that there isn't a single MIT license, so you're correct, but more gooder would've been to mention the specific variant that was in use by the project

  • I remember being able to play fairly old games with 'run in compatibility mode for '98' or something (a right-click menu item maybe?), so guess we have different recollections there

  • Microsoft windows has historically had pretty great backwards compatibility compared to macos, android or iOS; and pretty great device compatibility compared to basically everything.

  • I think it's perfectly deniable that it's selfish if you believe your children would have more valuable existences if they existed than if they didn't, and there's some value in their lives. You do things because you decided to do them, not necessarily because they benefit you -- unless you believe you can trivially reduce all motivation to selfishness (which then reduces to the concept of selfishness to something so trite as to be meaningless)

  • Oh hey, my grandmother was Chilean. Always wanted to visit but never managed it yet. Greetings from UK lol

  • Go fuck yourself. I recycle, I grow a lot of veg, keep my own chickens, air source heat pump and PV and all that jazz, I don't drive, I vote for socialised policies and infra investments. What do you do? Useless sniping arse

  • Yeah it's not just lemmy but it's certainly prevalent here. I think the allure is that it can feel 'sophisticated' and 'aware' to be cynical, but it is annoying.

Especially the anti-natalists OMFG. 'Having children is like totally selfish and inmoral' oh jeez shut your trap. Like I get the anti-hyper-natalists because having like 5 children is also completely nutso these days, but. Well anyway.

    Tl;Dr: totally, dude

  • True but sometimes I think 'is it strictly necessary here?' or am physically around children and unconsciously self-censor. I swear when I want to, I asterisk when I want to.

  • Pushing daisies was absolutely great, was gutted we never got to see how that played out

  • Ohhhhhh yeah that makes sense, they're only really happy with easy targets in overwhelming force because they're cowardly c***s. Gun probably scares them off.

  • It's being white, isn't it

  • The hardest thing about hating AI isn't that they're sycophants, nor that they enable any old dim-wit to pretend to understand any old subject. It's organically bringing up how much they suck in every conversation. I should know, I hate 'em

  • Fission is just harvesting the power of another sun from billions of years ago

  • Weren't they the band with the lead singer who turned out to be a paedo?

  • Oh, I installed Arch manually the other day and rather enjoyed the process :'( felt good to be reminded of all the bits and bobs.

TBF I have been accused of being a time-waster on occasion

  • And there's no Tim Curry, who frankly makes RA2

  • I is a vowel too but you sure can!

Edit: also I noticed you dropped one 'y' but not the others. Is this an accident or some subtlety to do with y's 'semi-vowel' status? To be discussed.
