I call bullshit. Debian stable just works, Ubuntu LTS releases use netplan instead of ifconfig, send your searches to Amazon, show advertising in the shell and push snaps down my throat. I used Ubuntu from 6.06 up until 10.04. Debian is just better with less corporate profit bogaloo
My rule of thumb is: if I see an incredible easy solution for a problem in a field I am no expert in, the solution must be garbage for reasons I don't understand
Tested it yesterday. Don't really like it. Don't get me wrong it looks nice and seems to be kinda polished, but its way to much work to remove all the stupid shit I don't need. DHH says its for professionals. Arch and Rolling release distro don't fit with working professionally in my opinion.
I'm happy if it gets more poeple to try linux but it's not for me. Debian all the way and despite what DHH said, you can install hyprland on debian (and even ubuntu) no problem. He seems to be kinda a linux noob :)
Rounding once may be okay but rounding multiple times and that errors add up. Astrophysics?! If im working with wood, i don't care measuring to 0.1 mm and it might be okay in astrophysics to use 10 for pi, but that doesn't make guessing your math correct in general.
Maybe we are doing things differently here in germany.
It's like these geoguesser not guessing the country by the plants and streets or houses, but by the camera angle and some imperfections only occuring in pictures taken in that country.
"When a measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a good measure"
You are right. And all this Firefox bashing is helping the real bad actors.
Let's take a realistic look. I think, AI is here to stay. With a few years more AI can be an invaluable assistant of your life. I don't think the bubble will burst in a way that AI will cease to exist completely.
The important part is, that the AI has to run on your systems in your terms. Nothing you prompt should ever be transferred to anywhere. If that's the case you have control and that's okay.
At the moment Mozilla is one of the better actors. Let's not jump on the bandwagon bash everything just because they changed a sentence in the AGB, while at the same time Google is pushing manifest v3. Lets be really picky about which technology will give us or take our digital sovereignty
Try it! Fuck Windows only und fuck Kernel Level Anti-Cheat. Gaming companies haben nichts in meinem Kernel verloren...
Solid points, but one point you didn't mention I feel is important. Stop lobbyism! Corpartes shouldn't have any direct influence in political decisions.
Es nervt langsam echt
