  • I asked the magic 8 ball if it is always right. It said yes.

    Your honor, that's the proof!

  • Der Chef der deutschen Bank soll die Fresse halten

  • Wieso höre ich das mit gandalfa stimme beim lesen?!

  • In short, you can just copy your whole system, you can use rsync, cp or dd. Two things need to be taken care of:

    • uefi boot needs to be working (copy uefi partition from old drive or reinstall with grub from live iso)
    • partitions in /etc/fstab need to be configured correctly

Everything else ist just the files and configs. Prefer using rsync -A over cp. In Linux everything is a file, except /dev and /procfs

Don't forget to fix hostname and network config if not using network manager.

Your idea should work no problem btw. though, since uefi and fstab is taken care of by the previous clean install. You should probably not overwrite fstab in that case IMHO.

  • It's so sad. And here is some food for thought. Change my view:

All these drills will cause more kids to think a school shooting is a viable idea when they can't take bullying or abuse any longer. This causes more dead children in the long run then any drill is able to prevent.

Not to talk about all the other psychological problems this creates for young children (living in fear...).

It's like these anti drug campaigns that were held in schools in the 80/90s; DARE

    https://priceonomics.com/dare-the-anti-drug-program-that-never-actually/

Students who went through DARE weren’t any less likely to do drugs than the students who didn’t. In fact, there’s some well-regarded research that some groups of students were actually more likely to do drugs if they went through DARE.

People just don't understand how the brain works. Ideas grow instead of shrinking if you think about them.

If you want to stop smoking, it's ineffective to say to yourself "I don't want to smoke", because this manifests the thoughts about smoking.

Publish a book about suicide and suicide rates increase in the population.

This is common knowledge, but still we tell kids with weekly drills that a school shooting is something that can likely happen. And just a few will take this as the basis for their horrible actions. And others suffer from useless fear they got instilled.

  • Wie wär's, wilde Idee, aber wie wär's wenn wir solche idioten Sperren?!

Achso, nicht gut für die user retention?! Sorry, mein Fehler

  • You are absolutely right to be angry, I should really not have done that

    You reached your quota...

  • Zeit sich selbständig zu machen

  • "The moment you realize your colleague wasn't even born at the moment your work started to piss you off".

  • I'm so happy that all our ai usage is completely optional and not even encouraged.

I would have thought in order to be part of the AI bubble you need to create and sell something that has to do with AI. Not just be a user.

Where is the money in that? Being able to fire half your workforce?

Have I mentioned how happy I am that I'm not forced to use AI?!

You are welcome

  • Ai is so dumb, nothing it tells me is more then regurgitating of common sense. Everything you need even a few braincells for it gets consistently wrong.

Reverse engineering something takes 3 times as long doing it yourself. Why does everyone prefer fixing AIs halluzinations instead of thinking by themself?

  • These are valid concerns, I still value my privacy way more then 4k resolution in some shows and not being able to use unsecure wifi.

My TV isn't connected to the Internet for the past 4 years no problems here and you can easily set a password on your hotspot if you need one.

Well, I see your pain, but this being the reason to give in is stupid in my opinion. Privacy is worth fighting for but people will only start to realize that, when they don't have any and it's too late.

  • Die Antwort ist: "ja"

They are all more or less the same chinese products with different cases, but it's pretty cheap

It doesn't work as well as the Wii controller since it uses the accelerometer, but you get used to it. The keyboard on the backside too, works for urls and some searching but you most likely don't want to type longer texts with it.

  • In this day and age, why even use that smart tv shit?

I switched to an old PC connected to HDMI and a mouse that works like a wii controller. Firefox with AdBlock, audible, Spotify no problem at all here.

I think only tech illiterate people should even consider using smart tv, everyone else: get back you autonomy ffs, there are alternatives to that crab
