I sympathize, but I honestly think that anywhere that's that car-dependent has reckless and aggressive drivers. It's why I get so frustrated with drivers that insist that bike lanes, transit, etc. will make traffic worse - it would literally do the opposite by taking cars off the road.
It's supposed to be for better or for worse. Lately it's just been better if you're a red state that refuses to invest in education and worse if you're a blue state that actually generates money from your educated and well-paid citizens. Enough is enough.
Interesting that the drivers didn't notice the "increased" speed limit. Either it wasn't convincing or people don't pay enough attention to speed limit signs. Probably the latter.

As with most people in that position, they've been fucking over people for so long that they're terrified of someone turning the tables on them. Hence gathering ungodly amounts of wealth and insulating themselves from the world.
I don't think they can comprehend what an average person is.
