  • Seems like LINQ. Also funny that a couple articles prior was an announcement of a .NET SDK, so they def are aware LINQ already exists!

  • You sent me down a mini rabbit hole!

It’s so weird to me that people decided yes “November” and “uniform” are great words for rapid communications. Uncle was already in there so nephew or niece would be fine, or even like net idk.

Also have never seen alpha spelled “Alfa” in my life but it’s actually in there, bonkers

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allied_military_phonetic_spelling_alphabets

  • Interesting, sounds easier than I thought! Thanks!

  • I guess in order for this to work you need to have set up that directory with the routing configuration? I’ve only ever gotten 404

  • How does MO2 work in proton? Is it one proton runtime that runs MO2 which then somehow launches another proton runtime to run the game? I can’t picture how it could be done

  • It’s different kind of risk when failure means you may not eat or become homeless.

The rich do not incur that kind of risk when they engage in “entrepreneurial-ship”

  • I did this in 2024! I use Finamp on my phone for music.

I bought a lot of albums on bandcamp, bought CDs for those that weren’t on bandcamp, and pirated those that weren’t available in either format (looking at you still woozy, stop releasing tapes lol).

Used CDs are a great deal and can be shipped all over the world for cheap.

Users on jellyfin can be allowed access to selected media libraries so just divvy stuff up that way, simple as folders.

  • This is super important (and hard)!

idk if this is an autism thing or not, but for me I logic myself into valuing external opinions as more important/credible than my own since they are potentially less biased.

Then I’m essentially judging myself based on my perception of the perception of others; two degrees of separation from reality!

  • Is my instance de-federated if this community is “completely empty”?

  • Just out of curiosity, how would one do this (in general terms)?

I hope I never have to because I’m sure I would not figure it out lol

  • idk if this could be subjective, but what do you mean by upstream here? Does that mean it’s included in most distros?

  • ropes together strong

  • Sadly I just gave up on bazzite/aurora after tinkering with it for months.

Bazzite somehow nuked itself after a couple failed upgrades and eventually couldn’t even get to the boot loader. I searched around and the only GitHub issue basically said that there is corruption in the drive and to just reinstall.

so I tried aurora today, installed ok but then wouldn’t boot lol. Switched to pop os with cosmic and no problems.

Love the idea of ublue, but there are just weird problems with it for now.

  • But only if it results in reclaimed vertical real estate! Vertical tabs in edge is a a net loss in screen space, which makes it pointless in my opinion

  • I think this is spot on. Raising a family takes time, and if there are not enough like human hours available in a “standard” schedule/lifestyle for two average people, they just aren’t going to be able to raise a family. I think it’s as simple as that.

  • I tried the same atomic budgie recently - love budgie compared to any other desktop environment, but I could not figure out how to install non flatpak programs.

I have never seen anything about “layering”, and couldn’t install essential software that happens to only be distributed as a .deb/.rpm file without help from chatgpt, toolbox, and manually installing probably 30 dependencies by basically guess and check.

Until rpm-ostree has an actual like wiki or manual or until fedora has articles on how to deal with these issues I don’t know how many people could use it, especially normal users.

  • What about onlyoffice? The UI is a lot more modern which is probably the issue right?
