  • Those state races were the only solace I could find on election night. The GOP candidate for AG was the guy who wrote the bathroom bill that caused so much pain and pushback years ago. I was sure he would try to take a page out of Ken Paxton's playbook and politicize the fuck out of his office.

I'm sorry that the redistricting sent Jeff Jackson (the state AG-elect) home from US Congress, but he'll do a ton of good in his new role just from not being Dan Bishop.

  • Especially considering the samples were exposed to supergravity as the plane came out of its dive. I feel like that would mostly invalidate whatever they were hoping to find.

Also, why do they dismiss asking ISS staff to participate in studies? Bodily autonomy doesn't mean you can't ask someone to conduct .. uh... research with you. It just means you have to respect it they say no. Astronauts seem like the types who wouldn't mind putting in a little extra effort for... science.

  • Or how to identify misinformation when you've got two or more rival nations flooding their feeds with bullshit

  • Man, I wish that was the case at places I worked at. My last company would give you stipends for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Try to spend that stipend at a convenience store because you don't eat breakfast and just want some coffee and a snack for later? Screw you, we're deducting from your paycheck for that.

I had a coworker who got caught on the wrong side of that policy. Since then, he'd always max out his stipend at every meal. Apps, desserts, etc. He'd get a second entree just to take back to his hotel as long as it wouldn't put him over the limit.

He probably cost the company hundreds extra because they wouldn't reimburse him for a bag of chips one time.

  • Good catch. I was drunk when I wrote that comment on my phone. Either I misread the release date or I mistyped it.

  • Meh, the best way to play RDR was back in May 2014 2010 on an Xbox 360.

Remake RDR1 in the sequel's engine you lazy bastards.

  • You beat me to it, because I was looking for evidence to support the dick pics thing. I can't find any source I would be comfortable vouching for. Just a grain of salt there.

  • Dunno about TN, but in NC, a Weapon of Mass Destruction is a legal term referring to anything designed to harm more than one person simultaneously.

This led, for example, to a local headline about a man holding up a bank with a WMD because he used a sawn-off shotgun.

  • Dresden Codak? Jesus. That is a comic that I haven't thought about in so many years. Now I have to figure out where the hell I left off so I can catch up

  • I think it's a roundabout attempt to get us to wonder what the fuck Kick is. I'm not that curious.

  • My dad pays for the NFL.com package and YouTubeTV (not premium, and even more expensive package than that) so he can watch all the games. I dread every season because of the inevitable bitching about one or both services.

He has an elastic band he puts up to block the score ticker on the bottom of the screen, and he's constantly terrified that they'll cut away from the current game for an update on another one he hasn't watched yet.

I feel like there's a real market for the old Red Zone channel that DirectTV used to do. No commercials, no breaks, just snap, play until the whistle, then fast forward to the next snap. It only showed gameplay when one of the teams was in the red zone(hence the name), but I bet people like my dad would pay enough to offset the lost ad revenue if they covered the whole game like that.

  • It looks like it's done in a comic book style. Reverse image searches show some Twitter and Tumblr posts indicating it's Kate Kane looking for Tim Drake (Batwoman and Robin from the Batman franchise), but I'm not sure if this is an actual page from the comic or just fanart.

  • Stein wasn't even the only third party candidate stealing votes. I voted for Gary Johnson with the Libertarian party as a "protest vote". Glancing at national results, he had almost three times as many votes as Stein did.

I was 100% the moron this meme is targeted towards. I voted for Harris yesterday.

  • What, are they running down the same presidential campaign checklist as 2016 and just forgot to remove the "hush money to pornstars" line-item for this go-round? Someone call Karen MacDougal and find out if she got the same offer.

  • Or... mountain folk who live up in the...mountains?

  • Now I'm wondering if there's a supervillain fight where Spider-Man just insulted his enemy over and over until they lost all morale and gave up. Spidey's been around long enough that I have to assume it happened at some point.

  • Interview starts 3 minutes in. All ads before that - including an ad for the very conversation you clicked on. Fuck iHeart.

  • I like this. I'm not stealing it, just copying it for personal use.

  • No it can't wait until Monday at 9am, no there will not be a staged roll out and multiple rounds of testing.

I hope you're doing internal product development. Otherwise, name and shame so I can stay the hell away from your product. This is a post-Crowdstrike world.
