When I was at a point where I genuinely considered killing myself instead of going into work I was doing that like everytime I woke up. I sat in bed debating if going to work was worth it or if I could just end it.
Especially since we still don't know how information preservation works in a black hole. There are ideas yes but we still aren't sure if any of them are even right.
Not really. My mom and step dad were Bahí for a big part of my childhood and I think that the teachings are really nice and I liked the community but I can't say I ever actually belived it. We ended up no longs continuing after we moved.
Like, we fucking get it: You're a technophobe and hate technology.
I don't think you get it or have even really bothered to read the articles if that is your take away.
This is coming from a person who would probably get a gen 1 brain chip if they were actually useful like the people making them say they would be.
Its not that I hate technology its that LLMs are effectively being forced upon people in a way where their bosses are literally telling them that they have to use the technology. There are genuinely companies that care more about their employees using LLMs than actually doing their job well because they are so invested into LLMs.
There's also evidence coming out that suggests that long term use of LLMs is not good for brain health because it involves offloading so much menial thinking. Without use your brain atrophes and you probably won't even notice it because you are your brain.
It will likely be a disaster for the already precarious state of literacy in the general public when people can just require to have the message re written simpler if they can't understand what a message is saying so they have no incentive to improve.
Can you not understand not learning how to think for yourself is bad? Or did the AI you use to run your life tell you not thinking anymore is more efficient?
People have deluded themselves into thinking that the Fediverse is so small no government entity cares enough to set up a simple instance that just sits there and sucks up data. It might not even be being used at the moment but the moment they want to it would be easier than most people realize to connect their account to an individual.
Unless you start paying them at the same level YouTube is no. The problem with peertube adoption by big creators is almost entirely monitary because if they were able to make money with it they would solve the other problems that come from it.
Seriously. It's technically true that there was a RAT on the AUR but the way it's titled is written to intentionally invoke times where it was more than one thing.
When I was one a lot of it has to do with the video format IMO. No one wants to watch an hour long verticle video on their app for getting random funny videos.
I haven't been onto tiktok for a long time but when I was using it it wasn't for deep content just something to scroll through when I had a few minutes of free time.
Was it healthy? Probably not but I don't really think it's related to attention span like so many people think it is. Tiktok is just the wrong format for long videos.
Bwahahaha you're one to talk. Please if other people read this look at the sources theyve posted.
