  • Yeah I was seeing a bunch of sad posts on Reddit from kids saying goodbye to subreddits that they frequented. A couple of them were like “I’m in an abusive home this is my one outlet now I don’t know what I’m gonna do.” So this is gonna suck for a lot of kids.

  • Lol are you thinking of rush Limbaugh? Because I thought the same thing and realized I was thinking of Limbaugh

  • Haha the blissful life comment was just that I generally tend to be out of the loop when it comes to celebrity culture. But not knowing who Sydney Sweeney is? I’m honestly extremely jealous. I can only wish I was on that level of completely ignoring pop culture

  • Damn and I thought I lived a blissful life. There are definitely those made up new celebrities but Sydney Sweeney isn’t really one of them, she’s been around for quite a while. She was in the white lotus and euphoria, which she became well known for, but she’s really only catapulted into the spot of new Hollywood it girl idk like post 2021 or 2022 or something? Mostly bc she’s a white girl with large breasts, and the chuds had all convinced themselves that white people were like banned from Hollywood or something so they’re all salivating over her now and then going on Fox News to discuss how Sydney sweeneys anti-woke boobs represent the death of liberalism.

  • It’s been like years of chuds all falling over themselves to praise her “anti-woke boobs.” Her entire existence as an actress has been celebrated by chuds as the death of “wokeness in hollywood,” by which they of course mean token representation in movies and such. And what about that whole criticism of her hanging out with family members wearing blue lives matter shirts and stuff, to which she pretty much said she didn’t care. To say her main fault in all this has been her silence is laughable. She has leaned into all of this for the last few years, this ad being only the most recent example.

  • If anyone is proof that satire is dead it’s Nick Adams

  • It really does and I keep wondering if people were always this dumb and I just never noticed, or if they really have become dumber. I do think Covid made a lot of people lose their minds though and we’ve just never recovered

  • Guys who refer to women as females are breaking new ground everyday

  • But is there some “adult bluey fan” phenomenon or something? Disney is a huge international media conglomerate with theme parks and everything that’s everywhere you look. I’ve literally never thought more than 2 seconds about Bluey in my life

  • Only time I don’t mask is when no one is around.

I sympathize with the situation of living with people who don’t mask though. I only very recently was able to move out of my parents house, and from 2023 (when they stopped masking) to a couple of months ago was masking in the house. Only place I didn’t mask was my room (where I had a window open) and when taking a shower. Was able to have a window open and have the vent open when taking a shower though.

Fortunately in my situation I was in a mid-sized and very old middle class house, so there was a good amount of space and the house was very porous (for air exchange with the outside). My mom was working in a library the whole time and as far as I know I never got Covid. This was pretty extreme though and was very stressful, so I’m not sure if it is what you want to do. If you are in cramped living quarters it might be even harder. Even if you don’t mask at home though, I don’t think masking out of the home would have no benefit. Things like viral load affect the severity of the disease and chances of developing long Covid. Also as someone else said just cause your roommate gets Covid doesn’t mean you will. If you are able to keep air flow in your living space good it will be more possible to avoid. It’s easier to avoid Covid in a space with one other person than in a cramped space with a bunch of people. So I suppose it depends if you feel those benefits are substantial enough to justify continuing to mask. Or start masking in the house if it’s important to you.

  • What is with the “adult bluey fan” discourse bc I’ve been seeing it in a few places

  • The millennial pop star to right winger pipeline continues unabated

  • Thank god. Volcel police, arrest this person.

  • The posts I’ve seen about mamdani’s wife. We sorely need the volcel police back.

  • I agree with this. I think what the defenders are missing is that this is happening in a confined space and people are essentially forced to listen to whatever’s blaring out of your phone. If this was happening like in a park or on the street and no one had to stand by you it wouldn’t be a problem (at least not for me).

If people really need to listen to their phones there should be designated quiet cars, talking cars and loud cars or something

  • Ah, well in that case carry on mr epstein
