This disabling scripts thing is really for hardcore privacy enthusiasts. Just install librewolf on your linux box, change the DNS on your router to block ads and you’re good.
The reason i say it’s for enthusiasts is that it will break everything as soon as you do it. And i mean it. The modern web is not useful without java script. Only websites designed specifically for working without javascript will still work.

Nah, if you really want to live on the bleeding edge you gotta make blindly installing vibecoded junk from shady parts of the AUR part of your workflow

Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•Wyoming is the most right-wing U.S. state. However, some local politicians argue that Wyoming is still not right-wing enough. This has sparked an internal political war.

61·6 days agoHaving a lot of functionality doesn’t necessarily mean having a bad interface - check KDE for example.
I think they simply have way too many more developers than UI designers.

I’m gonna be honest brother, right now there aren’t any good ARM tablets running linux that aren’t overpriced and niche products or laptops without a keyboard.
The closest you get for a tablet on a price is taking a look on what https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Devices has to offer, i’ve also seen some github pages about people running linux on Xiaomi MI Pads.
like this one. I can’t garantee you’re going to have a good experience running it this way, but you technically can.
I also encourage you to look for x86 tablets on aliexpress, some of them are decent and will run any linux distro you want.
It’s kinda bad but not very bad - ARM processors tend to be more efficient but there are some good x86 chips for portable devices as well
Just keep in mind eficiency isn’t 1:1 for a $800 x86 laptop and a $800 ARM tablet

But oh damn, so many changes that make gnome even more like android.
