  • They never could have imagined our modern society at all. The amount of power and influence held by just a handful of private citizens couldn’t have been accounted for in the 18th century.

  • Just making shit up so they have something to point to when the investors wonder why number didn’t go up enough.

  • I think the more important factor is taking ownership over something that originated elsewhere.

Even though it isn’t sacred, I would argue that the association between Great Britain and tea comes from appropriation. It wasn’t necessarily appropriation for the Portuguese to bring tea back to Europe, but it certainly was when the British used Chinese seeds and cultivation techniques in India to push China out of the trade.

  • That is 100% what it is, if it were about learning they wouldn’t be obfuscating bot matches. Pretending the bots are players is just a stealthy player retention trick.

  • Because that’s the definition: an essential organic compound that is not a mineral, fatty acid, or amino acid. It’s the “everything else” category for essential nutrients.

  • We don't need campaign insiders to tell us anything.

Mostly because they haven’t learned shit. They still think they just needed more time or to change their advertising strategy. It’s infuriating. It’s not how the message was presented, it’s the damn message!

  • I’m glad I’m not the only one who immediately hears that every time the word beaver pops up.

  • Just a heads up, the author of this article worked with maia crimew on it and then poorly presented the evidence in a right-wing paper with no credit. Here’s maia’s post with more solid evidence:

  • None of them need to be paid off to do this. Trump is starting to back away from some promises because it threatened the money interests, and the true believers like Loomer are losing it cause they were so close to getting everything they wanted out of this administration. They still aren’t blaming Trump directly, but it won’t take long if he keeps siding with Elon.

  • This is absolutely blatant corruption, why is this something an Attorney General can unilaterally do? Charges were already brought by the DA, it was going to court, and he intervened to dismiss it. The power to shutdown any criminal case is an extremely dangerous power for anyone to have.

  • I love this whole thing. I think you could make it feel more like “racing” if you have to race against other factions to get the good scavenging loot. Maybe the city is only accessible at certain points, so you end up with giant mad max convoys racing each other into and through the city.

  • There is very little meaningful difference between a B.A and B.S in Physics. B.A is a little less rigorous, but not by much.

That said, I don’t have confidence in Musk being able to earn either without some bullshit going on.

  • I think it’s fairly common to not translate the initials for political party names. Most English commentary I’ve seen uses just the initials. That said, it is a little weird they translated the names and used the initials at the same time.

  • Horseshoe theory is an incorrect oversimplification of extreme politics. If it were true then anarchists would be no different than fascists, which couldn’t be further from the truth.

  • It’s not just that it’s a “world with mechanical animals”, it’s the entire design aesthetic is completely lifted from Horizon. It’s obviously a different kind of game, but the character and animal designs look straight out of the Horizon games.

  • Most of the time it seems like it’s not a bomb, but triggering some kind of uncontrolled meltdown of a reactor that’s powering the vessel, or maybe blowing up the fuel.

  • I think most people do it that way, hell I use Vim and tiling window managers and I still do it that way most of the time.

  • Win+X opens the same menu.

  • I think you missed the point of the person you responded to. The point wasn’t to not help them, but to provide those basic needs and help them recover before starting to give them money as well. Give them housing, food, clothing, and access to resources to get better. Then, once they are in a better place to take care of themselves, give them the money to support themselves.
