  • I barely graduated high school and never completed my only semester of community college. My whole life I found it very difficult engaging with formal education and lacked motivation to focus on the synthetic work of school. It always felt meaningless and detached from reality to me. I was eager to be done with school as soon as possible.

    I’m very satisfied with how my life turned out and the minimal role of formal education within it.

    I don't know how old you are, so I can't even guess what your perspective and context on this subject might be. All I know is that at 55 (born in 1970) it sure feels different right now compared to how things have been for most of my lifetime. To me, at least.

  • It's a fair point. Don't discount the power and value that comes from keeping the same platform, APIs, and client software during a community migration away from the censorship. Plus having a clear line delineating the extent of a mod's power to suppress viewpoints likely reduces the incidence of abuse in the first place.
