  • I already don't drink coffee :(

  • But there isn't even a need to say please and thank you?

Like, you order on the touch screen, you go to the counter when your number pops up and they hand you the bag ... no words are required at all. I don't even take my headphone off any more.

    Fail :(

  • Yeah, that was what suspired me. But I guess it was a properly labelled bottle, even had one of those stickers you could pull off and put directly into the vaccination card. But yeah ... bold.

  • That reminds me of quite the strange story. I moved to Switzerland right when covid started, and suddenly needed my vaccination card. So I phoned up my mum to located it and send it to me. She did find it, but when looking at it, she noticed that my tetanus and diphtherie vaccination were overdue. I acknowledged it but really didn't think much more of it.

A couple of days later I receive a package from my mum. Inside is my vaccination card and a cooling pack. Wrapped inside that was a tetanus/diphtherie vaccine bottle, a syringe and a needle. Oh yeah, my mum is a nurse. Still, I was not expecting that and I was absolutely not about to give myself a shot. I really don't know what she was thinking.

Anyway ... I had the stuff lying around, so during one lunch break at the office, I went to the paediatrician that was in the same building and told her the situation. And to my surprise she was like "yeah, no problem, I can give you the shot". And she did.

But she used her own needle, which was a paediatrician's needle .. I literally couldn't even feel it (which is actually scary). Anyway .... after I was all done, I got a little bandage with an elephant on my arm.

  • I don't hate it ... but wrong community.

  • Even if you're at home and do have a CD player it's just not practical. Sure, if you only listen to a handful of CDs that's workable.

But my current music collection would require 1400+ CDs .. and good luck finding a specific song in that pile, even if you do know the exact album it's on. It's so much better to just have a searchable library.

  • You can still keep the CDs around for archive purposes, but to me CDs are no longer a viable option for actual media playback.

  • Which slot? Where?

The one shaped like the thing ...

    Format a drive? What’s that?

Depending on your setup it will even promt you do do this, all you have to do is click a couple of dialogs. Or lookup like a 5 step guide on the internet.

Your assuming a tech literacy that simply doesnt exisit in the general populace.

I think I'm making a very reasonable assumption about tech literacy here ... yours might just be below the general populace.

  • Even if you don't use a USB one, you basically just put the thing in the slot and start up the machine, maybe it needs some formatting. It's not brain surgery. Again, it still easily beats dealing with unmanageable number of CDs.

Everyone old enough knows how to handle a CD.

Actually, more and more people are too young to know how to handle CDs these days.

  • Common sense.

  • But I didn't say it ... he did.

  • It does prevent that vast majority of murders.

And how come we survived the times before Law if murder was so rampant?

By carefully stepping over all the murdered people lying around.
