  • If the law is still on the books, then the issue is not moot.

  • People who couldn’t be bothered to get off their ass to vote got us Trump. Stop infantilizing lazy voters. There are plenty of free options to get to the polls.

  • Uber and Lyft exist. Most cities provide free public transport to and from polls on Election Day.

Mail in ballots are available in many jurisdictions.

Stop making excuses for people who can’t be bothered to vote.

  • They aren’t Trump’s to “hand”.

  • Please no. No more gimmicks. No singing. No dancing. No puppets. No crossovers with other franchises. Just please make some good, classic Star Trek.

  • If you’re really saving 20% in file size with XL, adding back a very compressed preview image that takes up one or two percent isn’t going to cost you much.

  • All you have to do is add a small traditional JPEG image at the start of the file. It doesn’t have to be high resolution or more than a couple of kb. The new format decoder would know this, and skip the traditional jpeg “header”, rendering the newer file format embedded in the image.

  • Profit over people. The Republican mantra.

  • These two love to smell their own farts and declare them, “a beautiful floral scent with just a touch of muskiness.” They’re made for each other.

  • I would be more excited about JPEG XL if it was backward compatible. Not looking forward to yet another image standard that requires OS and hardware upgrades simply so servers can save a few bytes.

  • HP to use “AI” as cover for sacking 6000 staff.

  • Corrected. (But libraries are liberators!)

  • People often confuse socialism with communism. The confusion is deliberate by a lot of right wing propaganda. When talking about socialism with Americans, you have to explain to them that the fire department is an example of socialism. As are other public services, like roads, police, libraries, and some utilities.

Of course in America, some people think profit is more important, so they are doing everything they can to privatize services. For example, in Texas they are slowly killing public education, and toll roads have taken over normal highway construction.

As I mentioned, people are being conned and scared of the word so that they will elect people will be replacing what remains of public services with private ones.

  • Is this going to be like “The Witcher” where Netflix meddles with it until it sucks?

  • “6G” will take care of that. The carriers will force you to upgrade and then charge you higher rates because for some reason they have to replace all their infrastructure every few years.

  • Proper headline: Economy sucks, inflation is higher than ever, so people have to hold onto their devices longer.

  • “Singapore has ordered Apple to block or filter messages on iMessage that impersonate government agencies”

  • Misleading headline making it sounds like all battery recycling poisons people. Half assed battery recycling is half assed.

Also sodium ion or some other lead-free formulation will likely replace lead acid 12v batteries over the next few years.
