  • no worries!

I'm guessing there's still not much on here yet

Unfortunately so.However I'd still encourage you to make a post on those communities (esp the ones on our Canadian🍁 ones hehe :3) cause you never know who might be willing to help till you reach out!~🤗

so do you know of anything outside of Lemmy? I've been trying to search but can't find anything besides strictly regional stuff.

Most of what I know is related to Canada and US due to my interest and field in the tech industry, so my knowledge in general and international legal/financial resources is limited to those regions with a few exceptions like South Korea due to my heritage.

Since our PieFed has Topics and Flairs I'd imagine that we'll have a higher likelihood of finding general/international communities here especially as PieFed matures in addition to when more users migrate over and create those Tops.

If you'd like however feel free to send me a DM at @recursive_recursion:matrix.org and I’ll research resources for a couple regions of your choice for free, and you can decide to buy me a coffee if you like it.🌻

  • no worries🤗

  • err do you perhaps mean flash memory?

All of the articles I'd read so far has mentioned QLC/TLC and their "Xtacking" generation.

Not sure but I could have missed an article that talks about their RAM manufacturing.🤷‍♀️

  • Before I search:

    "China Tech Threat"

Gonna by real, I've never even heard of YMTC but maybe this is because the abstracted layer I work at is at the SI and Software Dev level.

The names I know and/or recognize that manufactures memory is Micron, Samsung, Kingston, and Patriot.

  • Looking for general stuff, just something to help me figure things out as I'm not an expert or anything, not familiar with these things at all.

It's a bit hard to recommend anything as professional and general diametrically oppose each other.

Wanting professional advice usually requires specialization and looking for specific industries/fields of study, whereas generalization moves towards typically much broader categories.

Anyways what kinds of topics or things are you looking for? Maybe I can help

  • Just curious but has anyone tried Bcachefs?

I haven't due to a number of concerns:

    • no time unfortunately, got other higher priority tasks.
    • heard of corruption issues.
    • been hearing and seeing more news of EXT4 and BTRFS improvements.
    • Kent's previous behaviors have kinda dampened/soured Bcachefs's hype for me :/
  • Heads up there's no license in the project's repo as of 2025 June 14.

As such atm: contribute at your own risk.

  • Very adorable🤗❤️

  • no worries🤗

this still works great for some mental relief for me🤌👌💖

Thanks and I hope your day goes great!🍀

  • I don't know why I didn't do this myself but thank you!🤗

This is very appreciated, I needed this🌻🙌

  • Welcome to the club😺

  • Several times as viewable here on the Fediverse; this account, my P.D. account, accidentally posted a comment to the wrong post as viewable in the modlogs😣, CCing lemmy.ca admins and P.D. admins.

Making mistakes all the time is painful; hopefully I've repeated less of them as time continues or so I hope anyways...
