  • At first I was confused about the books comment, since most books are just black text on white paper, but then I realized you were probably including comic books and manga in that too (and probably textbooks that include a lot of graphics)

  • I feel ya man, I don't work at Amazon but at a fintech startup, and I've survived through so many rounds of layoffs, demotions, and "restructurings" that I'm kinda numb to it all and just waiting for my turn too haha

  • Don't worry, once the hype fades, we can start calling LLMs "machine learning" again

  • Why would this even impact you if you're using their index funds? Twitter isn't even public so it can't be in any index

    Relevant because I don't think slow change is as irreversible as fast change, and might actually be more manageable

  • Yeah this sounds like a great use for drones- take photos of high up places that is dangerous to climb to

  • Does this work with installing xpi files from GitHub? (Say bypass paywalls for Firefox) I remember I used to be able to do this on Nightly, but suddenly I stopped having that ability

  • Am idiot, still use Instacart though because it saves me at least an hour a week (probably closer to two hours after accounting for shopping time and getting ready to leave) for $20, which is worth it to me

  • Maybe they store the punch card info locally and don't double check with any databases on their side? It sounds really dumb, but that's the only reason I can think of
