  • But how would you get a job without your social security number? /s (sorry, from another thread that someone took too seriously)

  • What is the point of this article? Stores receive stock early so they can have it on launch day. They’re showing them in a secure manner to start garnering hype in advance.

  • There’s no good answer. There was just a story where a company paid the ransom and the hackers still released the data anyway.

  • I always thought it fell into one of a few categories:

    • fixing the timeline someone else screwed up
    • minor changes won’t matter because the timeline corrects itself
    • fixed points that just flat out can’t be changed

But unless it was a “fixed point” he basically would do what he wanted, and most of the time it was the tardis that sent home somewhere to stick his nose in things.

  • Canada is technically a “Constitutional Monarchy” which means ultimately it’s governed under King Charles the III. That’s the part I’m saying is fucked up. A King from one country (UK) has come to Canada (another country) to remind the US of Canada’s “sovereignty”. The monarchy shouldn’t even exist, let alone have claim over a completely independent country.

  • Monarch from one country that says it has claim over another country, says that the second country has sovereignty? What?

  • And it’s not that hard either. I’m out with a new group of people and just ask “do you drink?” If I get a “no” we know not to push it and just continue on like normal. They still join in with all the conversation, we keep discussions around favorite drinks, alcohol, etc light to none and no one is offended or bothered.

  • This doesn’t really help. Which ones support custom domains? Have spam filters? Support “+” based addresses? Support DKIM/DMARC?

Not just “do the have an environmental pledge”

  • Which is funny because there’s a Velvet Taco (food) chain in Texas

  • I almost find it worse in the city because inevitably they rode your ass even with the turn signal on, so once you go past the space and put it in to reverse they’re sitting there blocking the space.

  • How is it “safe” compared to pulling straight in?

  • There’s a fork of Zotify that fixes the authentication issues. Beyond that, don’t try for a mass download but limit the speed and number at a time. Works great.

  • Even if it didn’t, you can bet your IT department would have a GPO or policy preventing its installation. Why do you think that you can bring and hook up a piece of unapproved hardware that may do more than what it says without the company (who owns the device) vets it?

  • If it’s good enough for the President! /s

  • I can tell you, as a hiring manager I never once looked at a cover letter. Let me see what your resume tells about you.

  • Ngl. I bought a signal jammer for my wife to use in her classroom (after all, it said “for educational purposes only”) and the kids could never figure out why the signal sucked so bad in her classroom during class times. She never got caught using it and never had to worry about them being on their phones.

If there was an emergency, people would just call the front office and they could always reach her on the land line in the classroom.

  • Because we all know how perfect documentation is. 😂

  • No shit. I was reading as I was scrolling and I read “Old Trek” and saw Data and it didn’t make sense. It’s literally called “The Next Generation” because it was new after TOS.
