  • Can you link me to an example or show me an example docker compose yml that adds an addon? I currently run a script that manually installs all my addons to the docker container by copying. Maybe you can show me with this: https://github.com/danielperna84/custom_homematic or any other really.

  • I understand. Android auto is quite nice. I don't like that the assistant can't be changed to another app. There should be an open protocol which allows any device to take over the cars multimedia systems.

  • Well at some point I expect zooming a map to work without lag. I assumed we were talking about new cars here.

Our other car is a 9 year old Mercedes and physical zoom is super nice there.

The actual issue on the Skoda is not that it doesn't zoom smoothly but that it stops following your car when you zoom. It instead stayes fixed.

  • BuT tHeRe Is VoIcE cOnTrOl!!!

Yes but if I have two friends on board that are talking I won't say

"SILENCE EVERYONE! I WILL NOW ATTEMPT TO ENTER THE NAVIGATIOM DESTINATION THREE TIMES WHICH WILL ALL FAIL!"

And zooming the map on skodas with touch screens is just THE WORST.

  • This is the way usually but some people just don't learn from their mistakes...

  • Makes me think...

    It really is better.

I don't trust them not to associate these accounts together with Facebook accounts internally. But that's a bit conspiracyish.

  • Wow I wasn't aware of that...

You can try to contact them through the oculus meta store live chat. When I migrated they were very helpful.

  • You don't need a facebook account a meta account was available as an alternative. That's great right? Much better!!!

I don't know if meta accounts still exist... The whole migration was a huge mess. The oculus brand was much cooler. I wouldn't have bought my oculus quest 1 if it had been a facebook product back then.

  • Why not upgrade two drives to 12TB ones? May be cheaper.

  • Thanks sounds like a fun weekend project. My 72 cores are bored most of the time anyways. 😃

  • Can you recommend me a vulnerability scanner?

  • I guess your right.

  • Do they want consumer ai cards to exist though?

    Think about the data!

  • Vaultwarden really is great. The offline edits are my only grime with it. Also I dislike how happily the browser extension discards your inputs when you click outside.

  • Sounds like a cool idea. I will add it to my selfhost list.

I still rely on openai for my llm needs but soon I will evaluate more private and self hosted solutions.

There probably is. Though I myself use nano (root permissions) and vscode.

  • If you run opnsense it can do this for you. With an OK GUI.

  • I mean if it's a gapped system... 🫣

  • But you still do the security patches right?

  • Now you have got a good excuse to setup something to manage your knowledge base.

    I recommend markdown:

    • frequently_encountered_issues.md
    • lots of helper scripts scripts
    • Setup guides mostly taken from their respective arch wiki pages but stripped down to only show my custom setup
    • a markdown file per os per machine
    • etc
    • Also link back to the original resources. Still copy them though. The internet is temporary.
