Unconditional support to the other prisoners for making his life as miserable as possible during the time he was incarcerated. Especially loved the videos where they did not let him sleep, were banging on everything yelling "Nico you sleepin' yet?"
What a surprise, nobody could have predicted it but Sarkozy (ex French president) is already out of prison after only 20days (out of 5years) while waiting on his appeal.
The French right and media class became prison abolitionists over night on this case. Given as far as saying on TV that prison was not for people like them.
The justice minister even went to meet him in prison to show support and days before having to go to prison Sarkozy was received in the Elysée by Macron
Started watching Succession. The old guy Ewan who's supposed to be the "left" caution of the family rambles about protecting and freeing people from horrible communists in Vietnam.
Yeah OK, I guess that's an accurate representation of the mainstream "left" in the US.
I’m not from the US, but I’d pass on a guy calling himself leftist with pretentions to power but apparently not "noticing" for close to 20years (or anyone close to him really) that he has a literal SS symbol on his chest. Either he’s a liar or he has never learned any history/theory which is a major red flag.
He's apparently had a Nazi tattoo on his chest for almost 20years and never even considered covering it up lmao. That would also be one of the step to take on the road to improving yourself.
Was feeling a bit down these past few weeks. Went to a friends bday and met someone based. We discussed Marxism, politics etc. Am feeling a little bit better
Yeah I agree It was just the easy way to reach my macros to optimize muscle building. I just said fuck it after a few years because it was expensive and I had attained the physic I wanted to.
I usually say to people based on nutritional reco that 0.8g/kg of bodyweight under 65 is fine and to bump it to 1g/kg of bodyweight past 65 as assimilation usually decrease with age. The vast majority of people vegan or not eat this without thinking about it
Not looking good for plant-based protein supplements. Not sure whether there’s a scientific explanation behind peas protein retaining more heavy metals or if plant-based protein powder producers just do not care.
Let’s say I’m happy I stopped taking daily prot supplement 2 years ago for muscle building, since I’m vegan these probably were not great for me.
Edit: I know EU has regulations in place for heavy metals I wonder if the same results appear here too (as I'm living in Europe)
Thanks! I have trouble finding reliable information on the committee and who holds real power in the movement. The military have publicly stated they are siding with the genz movement, but I can’t say whether that’s an opportunist power grab by them trying to take over the protest/revolution or not.
In summary, it’s currently hard to get good and reliable information on the situation
Thanks for the information, I’m unfortunately not familiar at all with Ethiopia. But yeah classic colonial tactics of exacerbating ethnic tension and giving the upper hand to one side to help them rule over the place ( as the belgians did in Rwanda favoring The Tutsi over Hutus based on "race science"). Le monde diplomatique had an interesting article about it a few years ago: https://mondediplo.com/2021/06/11rwanda
I'm currently researching the Madagascar protests due to personal closeness with the cause of ex French colonies.
What I can say from my personal experience is that the current president is a puppet of the french, he already "fled" once there (that's when he got the French nationality a few years ago in 2014). The guy only does anything after it has been vetted by the French.
He was also saying the movement was caused by foreign interference (ie Russian) as is the playbook of western aligned government. The current movement is asking for access to basic necessities such as access to education, healthcare, water and electricty.
They are not really organizing through discord. From what I’ve seen (that’s where I'm currently at and where my understanding is thin) they have a central committee and are forming local chapters in various parts of the country to organize their movement.
I've translated a small part of the document to highlight what they say they are against (looks like basic leftist revendications to me):
Alarmed by the violent repression of protests, arbitrary detentions,
recurring cuts to essential services, and the increasing risk of famine,
we stand against:
Systemic corruption caused by deregulated capitalism,
The misappropriation of public funds and the awarding of public contracts based on
corruption and favoritism,
Failures in access to basic services (water, electricity, health,
education, etc.),
The failure of the education system for the general population,
The dictatorship of a minority over politics in Madagascar to the detriment of
the interests of the vast majority of the Malagasy people, workers and farmers,
The absence of true democracy where local officials and citizens
have real political power
I’m still investigating who are the members of the committee and checking some stuff by people I trust on the subject of french colonies who have links with people over there.
Do you have the resolution text please? I could only find the one from 2021
