  • The pattern I have had is to keep my home directory on a separate hard drive so.I can hop and all my stuff (and configurations!) Stay constant across distros. The config side can cause some grief, depending on what you have set up, but the rest is 100% worth it

  • Just passed the 1 tb mark myself

  • This shit right here is why i'm always lurkin (and seeding)

  • I have it on my machine cause bspwm was broken when I decided to check back in on tiling wm about a year ago. It has become so inconsistently usable that I barely use that box and just ssh into it. Its upsetting the amount of time it wasted for me and that was before I found out it is run by nazis.

Fun fact: last I checked the lock screen blur uses 4+ GB of GPU ram for no reason at all. Like it just live renders a static blur the entire time the screen is locked

  • Therapists will also give a consultation and you should take them.up on that. When I was looking for one, I asked each one if they considered themselves a political therapist, if they said yes, I flat out asked if they were a Marxist. I ended up having to choose between therapists that were active in PSL and Land back. Consult as many therapists as you like, it gives you a chance to see what it feels like to talk to them and what their values are. The most important thing is how comfortable they are to talk to.

Online is fine and great as far as I'm concerned

  • What I've learned from LeGuin is that the science and physics are actually the boring part in the world, instead focus on now the technology interacts with people and the story. For example, LeGuin introduces the ansible in one of her stories, which is a device that allows for instantaneous communication between star systems. She never justifies how it works or has the need to explain it. Instead she just focuses on what this means for individuals and political structures in her books. What does the ansible mean for people who traveled out to the stars before its invention? What does it mean to be marooned on a planet with the possibility of a working ansible on the other side? Or to point to the lathe, how it works is not as interesting as the effects it had. I'm pretty sure I am remembering this fro .an essay or interview she gave, but I can't find it now.

Not much of a writer, but as a reader tropes aren't necessarily bad. They act as a shortcut to allow context to flow to the reader and can be very useful when used sparingly. As to your basic premise, as a reader I'm already bought in, I'm also bought in that they came from a portal. What matters more is the story built around the event.

Finally, as a musician, obsessing over the details is a surefire way for me to never release work. One must find the balance between attention and obsession when it comes to details.

  • Yeah I'm mostly lurking, but this place feels like a special safe haven.

  • You can get a zoom h4n for cheap these days on eBay or reverb. Look for the older model to save some bucks. Those things are solid, sound great and take 1/4 in stereo or even xlr if you want. They also have built in stereo mics so you can get room sound separately.

  • Ive been using master blend on everything and not really thinking about it. Rather than mix a solution, I just make concentrates of the three bags and mix them when I need to add solution. I picked this method so I could respond with the right nutrients when I noticed deficiencies, but since I switched from dynagro, I haven't noticed any problems.

  • I don't have access to soil or sun out here in 7b but I have been able to have a super successful hydro garden including my very first tomato that I picked off the other day! Was fortunate enough to get a grow bag thats larger than my current needs so I'm excited to expand in the coming months as I get through another harvest cycle. Currently have six 3-gallon totes on DWC growing leafy greens, green wave mustard, sorrell, arugula, and cherry tomatoes. Real excited to make some haam choy from the mustard next week. About to make a salad for dinner and have been e atimg greens every day for the past two weeks.

This is actually the second tomato I pulled off pictured as I quickly gave the first one to my partner (wifeguylyfe)

  • Could we not be like this. Those kids didn't vote for anyone.
