the only smart house thing I envy is temperature adjustable lights automaticly adjusting the temperature according to the time of day
some thing like that could bring the best of both worlds easily, I find higher temperatures more pleasing at day but like you they are too harsh for me at night
I don't always mind not having the customization of Plasma, what I mind is needing that customizstion because the defaults are awful and GNOME's "opinionated" design to me has done clearly awful decisions on the defaults
I had 768p monitor, gnome title bars ate my screen space, I had to unironicly set my scale factor to 70% on gnome tweaks to even attempt to try out gnome and even then I gave up and installed plasma
thats what apple forces and imposes on any developer that uses the app store, which is most of them since on ios alt stores are only a thing on eu and japan afaik
the main reason this lawsuit is even moving is that leaked emails that indicate valve has a price parity policy even for non steamkeys, I really doubt those leaked emails since I have seen first hand plenty of cases of games having different prices, sometimes even extreme differemce in pricing, for example, mindustry is paid ln steam but free on itch.io, google play store and fdroid
even if those emails are true, that only is proof of one case not a proof that there is systemic policy of doing that
many other, even more questionable claims are raised withour evidence or drawn very dubiosly in the law suit
this lawsuit is pure theatre
beyond this, plenty of companies have even more and clearly anti competitive with their practices extending beyond game selling and distribution, namely apple and google, who control respectively iOS' (very genericly poorly named) apps store and play store who clearly display anti competive behaviour and are clear monopolies
what does the new shiny android version has that is worth it? nothing, security fixes is enough, I am tired of shit updates the fuck with everything by oems that have shit QA and provide little to none security updates and often quite late, LOOKING AT YOU SAMSUNG, I swear if i have to factory reset my phone AGAIN because an update fucked something up again
discounts are lies, always have been, and before the "it is illegal to lie about disconts", have you ever seen it enforced? I haven't, I track theprices of some goods in some local stores where I live, I have made formal complaints, what happens? nothing, nothing ever happens
remembed when a farther took pictures of his child during covid because the doctor asked for since they were keeping physical visits to a minium because of the pandemic and google's automated systrm flagged it as CSAM and the poor farther lost his gmail and google account which ended up fucking his life because that was his work email and hjs phone number got black listed (google accounts require phone number verification)
sometimes there isnt labeled sponsor segments, I just usually skip increments of 30 seconds since most sponsor are either 30, 60 or 90 seconds
