  • There were immigration consultants telling people overseas they’re guaranteed citizenship if they pay them to apply to a Canadian institution as an international student.

Women were forced into sexual slavery because going back home wasn’t a valid option for them. Their family had spent every penny they had to chase a better future in the West for their kid. I’m sure it’s still happening but more hush hush after it became obvious that the majority of Canada isn’t onboard with such high immigration.

Any and every single conversation on immigration used to be immediately accused of ulterior motives few years ago. We built a permanent underclass of mostly non-white people and you’d get accused of racism if you point out the obvious exploitative nature of our government’s policies.

  • I think it’ll be easier to go after corporate landlords than individuals who got their life savings tied into 1 or 2 houses. Far more of those homeowners will support the policy if they’re assured they aren’t being targeted for having a networth of 6 or 7 figures.

I know for a fact that corporations are sitting on empty properties instead of lowering rents. Governments at all levels are letting it happen when homelessness is at the highest we’ve seen in our lives.

The worst thing will be to go after random middle class landlords. They aren’t the ones causing most harm, if any. But they do vote and will vote against getting treated the same as corporate landlords.

  • Government running lotteries and using the money for something good for the masses is so much better than letting bookies run their businesses.

Gambling has an appeal to some people. Others never feel the need to buy a ticket. Both are equally respected, valid members of society.

Religious folks often have an objection to gambling for dogmatic reasons. They don’t get to ban the fun for everyone else just because they feel they have all the divine solutions to humanity’s problems. Regulate the crap out of it though.

  • Those “islamic takeover of the west” assholes are just as repulsive to me.

Muslim women getting targeted infuriates me as much as any normal person.

What’s lost in political correctness sometimes is fundamentalists who make life difficult for muslim women who don’t want to wear the clerical mandated uniform.

The call to prayer thing isn’t a big concern. Muslim conservatives keep trying to get permission to do the call to prayer and people push back against it. You often get accused of racism if you’re against it.

They’re allowed to do it for themselves in mosque but they insist on doing it public and force everyone to listen to it whether they like it or not.

  • I’m not holding Christianity above any others I’m well aware of all the crap in Judeo-Christian traditions as well.

Habit, miters, kippah, Anabaptist traditions are all respected then what’s the issue with Somalis or Sikhs wearing their turbans?.

I’m also aware of women that got assaulted or killed by religious fundamentalists for not covering up properly. I’m not pushing racist ideas. There’s still gotta be room to air out religious laundry without being a racist bigot.

  • You gotta read into religious scriptures and their weird rituals. Nothing racist, it’s a thing in every religion, culture, ethnicity… not limited to any race.

Women were forced to go live away in a segregated spot during menstruation and it’s still happening in some places today.

It’s possible to not be racist and still highlight or mock the absurdity of those things
