  • the american left are idealists and utopians at best

Seriously. Take the issue of immigration. If you say that maybe we shouldn't have open borders as a first order of business they will scream "communism is when no borders" but they ignore the fact that there may be issues with opening borders fully given current conditions. And so the discussion stops completely and both sides are left frustrated.

  • My understanding of Marx is that economic conditions must change first, then society adapts to it. By conditions here I mean things like climate, war, famine, and technological progress. I don't think people reading is going to change anything.

By now everyone knows that America is committing a genocide in gaza, but Americans keep going to work. If something like genocide can't change the course of society, how am I supposed to believe that a few people reading theory will change anything?

Theory can be applied once people are forced to change. So it definitely has it's place.

If I'm actually wrong please direct me to what Marx or Lenin said about theory changing material conditions.

  • Seems like they are actually spending 3/4 of a billion dollars on making sterile flies to combat this. If America can mobilize against this, it seems pretty serious. If only other issues hurt bottom lines like this.

  • Yeah I mean nothing will change her mind. And that's why we need to give up on liberals. At some point the difference in thinking is that one person thinks that innocent people should suffer and die and the other person is saying that I would be a target and I don't want that. After all discourse fails we have to resort to using the final argument: the gun.

  • I disagree that it's changing MATERIAL conditions. It's changing discourse perhaps.

  • Like they will run circles around being wrong and then pat themselves on the back and call me a dumb Russian troll or something.

Liberals do this, they won't listen to you anyways. They will laugh at you because what you're saying is against the ideas of the ruling class, which to them is the obvious dominant way of thinking in society.

You have to very calmly and succinctly utterly destroy every part of their argument, call them out on shifting goalposts and then, and this is the key part, they will try to lie to support their argument. If you catch them lying without getting mad you will have the upper hand.

One shortcut can be catching them being racist. Libs are racist, more so than right wingers in the sense that right wingers want to be racist to hurt people's feelings liberals don't even acknowledge that some people are human, and if you catch them in this act of dehumanization (eg: I don't hate the people, i just hate the government. Okay but why don't their people hate the government. Because they're all brainwashed. So you think their whole population is easily brainwashed and they need you to tell them the truth?) Sometimes that gets them to shut the fuck up and reflect a little bit.

I don't think this battle is worth it though, most of the time. Like you said it's exhausting. These people don't have any real friends anyway, have you noticed?

You could also just attack them personally for being a fascist.

  • LMAO

“The updated schedule in the budget documents reflects supply chain challenges encountered by the program.”

Translation: we can't build literally anything without Chinese inputs.

  • I don't know if this is an ultra leftist take or just a regular leftist take but I keep hearing how only changing material conditions will bring about social change in the US. But then why the heck are we even bothering to read theory and talk about it with people?

Another take is that communists should be supporting countries that the west is most profiting from via imperialism, and help those countries fight back against imperialism, which would lead to changing conditions in the west. And like okay, I guess we can do that but not everyone can just go travel and be a professional revolutionary, so again, are communists in the states supposed to be doing something or patiently waiting?

What's your best take on this?

  • Thank you pewdiepie. You're still a racist piece of shit tho.

  • preloaded

Is it really that hard to download Mint, stick it onto a thumb drive, and stick the thumb drive into a laptop and reboot it? Because if you genuinely don't like to figure things out about your computer I don't think you'll have a great time using Linux. At some point something will break, probably after an upgrade, and you will not be happy.

  • I want all of my US news delivered like this.

  • I hate how it DOESN'T depend on communists educating the rest of the population. I want revolution tomorrow damn it! Why do I have to wait until things are worse than bad?

  • Have you read Capital?

  • Why did you only post the cover?

  • If that's your opinion that's fine, don't support them, but I don't find anything damning reading through this. Here's my opinion: anyone loud online getting disproportionate amount of hate without concrete proof of them being a piece of shit is probably doing something right.

Here's my ultra spicy take, idk if yall are ready for this: Andrew Tate's media presence was wiped off of the internet swiftly because of his analogy of us living in the matrix and him (correctly) saying that they don't want young strong men who can stand up against the system. Don't get me wrong he does and says cringe shit. But the SA charges are probably just the standard defamation play they use against everyone they want to silence.

Now I am not going to stan e-celebs. I quit watching all of them. My only point is that I've seem some of them get a disproportionate amount of hate. Almost as if it's coordinated, but it could just be people being people. And I will add that I think Haz actually says a lot more interesting and thought provoking things that are new ideas to me compared to Hassan, who is vastly more popular but for me isn't as effective.

Okay you can drag me away now.

  • I don't get it :(

  • China has already been conducting military exercises around Taiwan, I don't think the US navy can get close enough to help at this point. If China wants to take Taiwan by force I think they will certainly be able to do it.

However, what will the US do once they lose most of their ability to manufacture semiconductors? Seriously this will be like going back to the stone age for them, will they be forced to do something crazy? It's not like they have the ability to move production, and I expect that China will act to counter capital flight if it is serious about taking Taiwan.
