  • We don't know about the longer term consequences yet, just like we didn't about lead.

Not saying it's a definite but I wouldn't be surprised.

  • I too have spent way too much time wondering why "ov" didn't look quite right

  • For whatever reason, they combined both into ADHD and ADD is no longer a diagnosis.

  • "a pleasure to have in class, but needs to apply herself"

  • Have your asked your dad? What does he say? Did you tell him that you think it would be harder for you and ask what his opinion is?

Not saying you have to, just curious if you did how it went. I'm in a similar boat.

  • This doesn't answer your question, but I'm curious. You say your writing is good but your reading is bad. In my experience reading and writing are so intrinsically linked, and reading is the easier of the two. If it's possible can you explain the difference for you? I just find it really interesting!

  • I need you to know that "practicing not clenching my jaw" killed me dead lol relatable

  • Thank you ❤️

  • This was after Vyvanse and coffee 😅 I was very focused on all the NYT games. Just couldn't convince myself to be productive.

  • I'm glad you pointed out that this is in reference to old literature. Whenever I see a white person singing to a song and they say it "because it's just part of the song," hard cringe. Just didn't say it. Skip the word. It's easy.

A good example I can think of is that young white man at the DNC singing along with Not Like Us who was so joyous and animated and went viral. When it came to the n-word, he just skipped it. Just fist pumping and keeping the energy, and closing his mouth for one word. A lot of people noticed and were grateful that he was respectful in this way.

  • This is not helpful but I just want to kvetch. It seems like any appliances you buy nowadays are just so shitty compared to even ten years ago. Even brands that have long been reliable are so hit or miss. I have a mini-fridge that's almost 30 years old and still works fine. I keep being tempted to buy one with a better freezer or that's more energy-efficient but I worry it would kick the bucket and be unrepairable within 5 years.

  • Never knew how much I needed this, holy shit. Mine beeps when it finishes but also beeps again if I haven't opened the door in, idk, some amount of time. Which I get why it's a gesture and sometimes I actually do find it useful but often I'm like "I KNOW, GIMME A MINUTE"

  • I am triggered, please for the love of god and anyone who lives with you JUST CLEAR IT

  • Melt ICE, let's fuckin go

  • I feel like the problem with AI generated content is it's so easy for anyone to generate stuff, so there can be a huge amount created with little effort. There is high quality AI-generated content, but whew there's a lot that's total slop.

I don't know what the best response is, though. Requiring disclosure of AI-generated comment doesn't seem like it would help because that's going to be mostly honor system. User-flagged could be used to brigade/suppress posts. Really it's probably just a matter of blocking users and communities where you see consistent slop.

  • I am an uneducated American, thank you for sharing this. Really repugnant. This cancer is global and growing.

  • So jealous of my UK brethren who can ask this question

  • This is the kind of [ Removed by Reddit ] content I'm here for
