Manufacturer are going SDV, whether we like it out not. Software defined vehicle. They're a computing platform on wheels.
Like a computer or a smartphone, buying the hardware does not grant you access to all software ever made for that plateform.
Hopefully one day we'll see some computing hardware standardization across brands and openness for third party apps and subscriptions.
The current status of being at the mercy of a single vendor is terrible. Given standardized and similar computing hardware and APIs, I'd like to try Mercedes or Cadillac or Tesla's FSD one month each and see which one I prefer and can afford.

Here's a few Canadian that went to Eurovision

Céline Dion represented Switzerland in '98 and won.

Natasha St-Pier represented France and made it to 4th place in 2001.

Annie Cotton, Switzerland, 3rd place in '93.

Well, for one you would need cars that meet Canadian regulations and has a network of service centers and/or dealership for parts and reparation.

There are few cars built in China that meets these 2 requirements.

We're not going to see Byd or Xaomi cars anytime soon.

Japanese and Korean manufacturers will need to figure out if adapting their Chinese product line for Canadian regulations makes sense or not.

I guess in the short term it only means we might get slightly cheaper Tesla's from Shanghai like we did in 2023.

Well that's just depressing. Bought one a few years ago thinking I was doing my part in cutting emissions. There weren't really any other brands that had cars available, not to mention the supercharger network.
