  • Oh, wow, I literally just blocked pugjesus today because they've become so unhinged. El oh El

  • When I lived there we had hospitals that were "no-go's". I was looking to get a surgery done, and everyone I worked with told me not to go to $hospital_X, but instead go to $hospital_Y instead.

  • Who is advocating for helping to elect Trump? I certainly wasn't. I want that PoS out more than I want the Dems out.

  • Nothing tells me how unserious you are more than you continuing to say that people who very explicitly voted against something, actually voted for it.

Are you going to tell me that War is Peace next? Of that Slavery is Freedom?

  • Would you like to remind me who 'divided' and failed to show unity against the literal Nazis in the very real scenario we're discussing and has already happened?

Yes, it was the Democratic leadership, who tried to pull in voters from the party of the Nazis. All while telling the anti-Nazi voters to sit down and shut up. The Dems proudly ran around the stage with Republicans, and moved their policies to the right.

  • It will never cease to amaze me when these people blame the voters, instead of blaming the people with the power, the platform, and the money for where we are today.

  • No, not even close. Did housing prices get better under them? Healthcare costs? Education costs? How are workers wages doing compared to corporate profits?

  • And how has that been working out? The Democrats keep losing because they keep abandoning their voting base, while trying to pull in Republican voters. Republican voters aren't generally going to start voting for Democrats, but there's a giant pile of leftist waiting for a party that actually fights for them. Maybe the Democrats should try appealing to them instead.

  • If that is true, then it sounds like the Dems should start catering to the left, instead of telling them to sit down and shut up.

Additionally, that poll says "...a top reason...", not the only reason. Look at the other issues listed in the poll:

    • The economy
    • Medicare and Social Security
    • Immigration and border security
    • Healthcare
    • Abortion policy

All things that the Democrats keep campaigning on, but doing practially nothing about.

  • I always find it funny that someone who spends a bunch of time criticizing people for voting against genocide calls other people Nazi apologists. Self-reflection much?

  • Voters: "Please stop bombing children", "Please stop backing a genocide", "Please stop handing out our taxes to your rich friends", "Please stop making healthcare the number one reason for bankruptcy", "Please stop sending people to torture prisons", "Please make minimum wage a livable wage"

    "...less than ideal party..."

I think you might have a warped view of what "less than ideal" means

  • I can't agree with this. Both of the parties are pretty evil, and I am pretty strongly against the Democratic party, but I can't agree that they are just as fascist. Sure, the Democrats helped build out the tools for fascism, and they don't really put up a fight against the fascists, but there is a difference, however small it might be.

  • I kinda feel bad for the people that blame third-party voters, actually. I get that they are angry and frustrated, and they should be. But they are upset at the wrong people. Instead of being upset at the voters who couldn't stomach such a terrible candidate/party, they should be mad at the candidate/party for choosing to be so terrible and losing so many voters.

  • To further expound: In a healthy political ecosystem, Trump would not be able to get anywhere near any political office. He would have been immediately voted down as the cruel joke that he is. It's only because America is so evil and toxic that he was elected twice.

  • Says the person that keeps telling others that voting against genocide was bad.

I very clearly voted against the Nazis, but you clearly voted for genocide. I'm sorry that is hard for you to accept.

  • I felt it was pretty clear but...If you think that not voting in the last election means that they voted for Trump, then logically it stands that not voting in the election before that means that they voted for Biden.

I'm simply pointing out how people who make that argument only like it when the argument is used in their favor, but they don't actually believe it.

  • Totally. I want to like the Democrats, but their leadership keeps shooting themselves in the foot, and blaming the voters. I find that I tend to side with most of their voters, but their leadership is pretty openly antagonstic to their voting-base.

I gave up on the party long ago, but I am pessimistically hopeful that we'll see them turn around someday. In the meantime, I'd rather put my efforts into other parties that actually fight for what I want.

  • The same Democratic party that voted for more funding for ICE when they were in control of the system? The same Democrats that promised they would be tougher than Trump on the border during the last election?

They are only against ICE now because the Republicans are in control, and they have to pretend to care. When they had power, they seemed to think that supporting these systems was perfectly fine.

I'll stop discouraging people from voting for them, whey they stop perpetuating the Evil Empire.
