Elmo Musk became the world's biggest billionaire by scanning and lying about everything.
Others took note and took his example and just make random shit up, say shit that can't be verified or even if it can, doesn't matter. Just make fantastical fanatical unsubstantiated claims, and you will be rich too, bro!
The Dutch authorities are also very wary about declaring the US an unsafe country and provoking Trump, said Shrover. They think: ‘How will it look? How will the Americans respond to that? We can’t do this to our most important ally, saying that they don’t have a functioning democracy.’”
First off, "smarter" is a really hard concept. Do you think Elmo Musk is smarter than you? He's a conman and an idiot and I guarantee you he isn't smarter than you
Then there are people that have certain specializations. They know everything about very little. This means they are very smart nonbthe subjects they know about and well, not so smart in others
There are also the true geniuses, but those usually don't end up uber rich. The theoretical physicists under us aren't known for being billionaires
Then there is just the basic question: what is smart? Somebody who mnaged to make a lot of money? Usually that's not smart, it's stepping on others backs. Musk made a lot of money but he did it by lying and scamming (and he continues to this day)
And even then... Let's assume for a second that there are objectively smarter people out there, do they deserve more than you and I, just because of good genetics? Fuck that Nazi shit.
I want a world wide wealth cap. Say, 1 million dollar (pinky pushing against corner of mouth)
We can keep capitalism as-is, all fine, but when your networth gets higher, your income taxes get higher.. when you reach 1 million, 100% goes to taxes
This way, we have the strengths of capitalism yet no more millionaires. Without millionaires, a huge amount of shit that comes with them, disappears too. Governments on the other hand get a huge tax income that they can spend on free healthcare, free education, universal basic income, you name it. Nobody will be super rich, nobody will ever be poor again.
The 1M is a random number I pulled out of my ass, but the point stands. We need to cap how much net worth a single person can have. There is no explicit right that says you should be allowed to hoard money and art and networth.
Within that limit we can allow people to do what they want. What to buy an expensive house? As long as it's under the max, sure!
Those crazy ass houses with 500 rooms from oligarchs? Convert them into hotels. Same goes for those crazy luxury ships, make small cruise ships out of them. Ban private jets unless for things where it makes sense, like medical transportation or something
We don't NEED private jets for anyone, especially not in the age of video calls
Billionaires and millionaires are the main reason why democracy is dying, why the world's environment is dying, why things are as bad as they are, today.
Ban millionaires, ban billionaires and let everybody be as "rich" as they want within the wealth cap.
I don't watch star trek anymore. Havent watched SNW, haven't watched this either, and won't ever.
I hope one day I can go back and watch TNG or DS9 again without feeling the cringe from ST Picard.
I watched 5 episodes of STD and dumped it, it was awful CGI slop. I regretfully watched the nu trek movies and they're literally much worse remakes of earlier star Trek movies.
Then came ST: Picard, which has managed to ruin even TNG for me for a long, long time. I knew it would be terrible but everyone and their mother was repeating the aggressive marketing campaign that it would be absolutely awesome and ooooohhh god it was bad. They fucking ruined Q... That pissed me off.
Want to watch the true successor to star trek, in heart and mind? Wat h the Orville. Seasons 1 &2 are awesome, 3 kinda went into the same shit direction like star trek with longer episodes, weaker stories and much, MUCH more CGI to make up for it and hope we wouldn't notice. Season 3 is still not AS bad as nu trek, but it's close. 1&2, though, best trek since DS9, they even have their TBOBW moment!
Ahhh FFS. That sort of crap is too why I stopped watching star trek, completely. Star Trek used to be made by people who loved the show, now it's a cash cow being milked to death and they hope with adding know actors and loads of CGI that we won't notice. Hell, when the producers said they don't really care much about Star Trek, that should have set off some alarm bells but nope, all good.

This is exactly what people said would happen when citizen united happened yet nobody did anything to stop or reverse it. It's not like Democrats didn't have the option to do so, they just didn't care either
What the US needs is a parliamentary democracy
That is, besides it needing to break up into 50 independent countries because it's obvious by now that a few of the states are dead set of fucking everyone else over just to ensure their racism, bigotry, and religion gets forced down everyone's throat everywhere.
Let it break in into independent states, and the red states will turn into third world banana republic dictatorships within a few years and won't be able to feed their own population. They'll get what they want for themselves and the rest of the US states can independently continue becoming civilized nations.
It's a top 1% poster too, so you can be sure that entire sub reddit is overflowing with bullshit theories made up by the feeble, unable to understand what they're looking at
Has anyone ever said that racism is bad even when it's against white people? Just don't do it to anyone as we're all the same, and such?
Pro tip: just replace any color with a different color. If all of the sudden it sounds offensive to you, then it was offensive to begin with.
I now sincerely wonder how many people will come by to tell me that racism towards white people is fine because a group of white people were assholes, so we all must be assholes
I want a world wide hard cap on personal wealth. Nobody should have more than 10 million in personal net worth. Helo, even a million might be on the high side, but cap it somewhere there.
Anything over that, 100% to taxes
You don't have to change away from capitalism, it's fine, it works well to generate loads of wealth and as long as there are hard caps, nobody will get crazy rich, governments will get loads in income for free healthcare, free education, hell, even universal basic income
Point is: nobody should be either crazy wealthy or crazy powerful.
Having said that, add powerto that list too. Nobody should be able to be president, too much power. Nobody should be able to singlehandedly declare or start a war just because he's a pedophile and needs a distraction. Nobody should be able to just overrule judges and liberate their cronies for money
And after all that don't think the US is off the hook. It needs a complete overhaul, politically, justice systems, and so on, and I'd say, split up into the 50 states it has, but now each state being an independent country. (Same for Russia and China, btw)
And another "racism is okay if it's against the people I don't like" type
Make fun all you want, you know what you are
