I've been doin alright.. my parent came to visit for the first time in over 5 years so we took her around the area and whatnot. Walked FAR more than we usually do so big plus there, but I wasn't doing my crunches at night. Started back up again Monday night.
I have SO many games on Epic because they gave them away over the years but I do not use it. I tried not too long ago to install Red Dead Redemption 2 from the Epic Game Store, which I bought many years ago, on Linux and it was a goddamned nightmare that ended up not working.
I bought it again on Steam when it was on sale and it works flawlessly. I abhor the other stores. They don't have reviews, they don't make things easy to use, and they aren't at all committed to customers whatsoever.
I pulled out my VR index stuff a few months back when my partner's parents were in town because I wanted to show her dad, but one of the little lighthouse thingies shit the bed and wouldn't start up. I've had that kit for about 3 years I think but hadn't used it much because we don't have much space in the house and it sucks hooking it all up and taking it down. Anyway, I pinged Valve about it just to see what it would cost to replace one of the lighthouses, and they just sent me a new one for free, no shipping cost or anything. It was goddamned amazing. There are so very few companies out there like them.
oh my.. just when i no longer have a job too. That vr headset might be the ticket for me. I have the Index but I don't have any space to really use it and it's really cumbersome to set up and tear down. I refuse to get an Oculus because I don't ever want a facebook account.
the last company i worked for needed another rack in a colo space, which the datacenter we were in had available, except they had no more power available.
A friend and neighbor of ours has been volunteering for a local food pantry for the past 20 years or so, and she is constantly giving away food that goes unused. She routinely asks us to come and grab chicken, fish, grapes, potatoes, onions, carrots, broccoli, etc just so she doesn't have to chuck it because they have policies that they can't hold on to it for more than x amount of days.
i'd assume the ass covering piece would come with "i helped feed the military families during a time of need" but maybe that's not how they imagine things will be spun.. i dunno
they'll continue to be used as a threat to keep powerful pedophiles in line
