  • Chrome - exists on Linux, but Firefox is in my opinion a better choice.

    Gmail - if you are attached to webmail, that still works. Nearly any distro you pick will also come with a native email app.

    PyCharm - JetBrains IDEs work on Linux. No need to switch.

    VPN - Your desktop environment will probably have built in controls for a VPN, you just need to get a configuration file from your company.

    Windows games - Most games from Steam will just work if you turn on a compatibility setting in Steam, it manages Valve's own version of Wine for you.

  • You might find it helpful to look up "Evil Maid Attack" as you will be susceptible to that.
