  • An added benefit of moving away from Canva will be the colourspace. Canva doesn't use CMYK (might have upgraded since the last time I checked). Making your slides with other software will make them print using the right colours.

  • For slides you can use Impress or Reveal.js

    markdown > pandoc > reveal.js is easy, depends on what you're doing graphics-wise in your slides

    (I use LaTeX Beamer slides made with pandoc, but they're not flashy)

    Another option could be Inkscape which can make multipage documents. You can even animate them using jessyink.

    We never ruled out working with Motorola, Samsung, Nothing, OnePlus, etc. We said none of their current devices meet our requirements which remains the case for all of them. Only future devices from our OEM partner can be supported and it's going to take time to meet all of the update and security feature requirements. It's planned for 2027 but we aren't sure when in 2027 the devices will be launched. There's a lot of work to get done on updates, MTE, etc. before then.

    GrapheneOS was contacted by one of the largest Android OEMs in June 2025 and we're actively working with them. They're going to be announcing our partnership in March 2026 and the phones meeting our requirements with official GrapheneOS support are scheduled for 2027.

    Xiaomi, Huawei, Honor, and Vivo are all larger OEMs than Motorola.

  • I'm generally a fan of all the human-made independent blogs and sites, from the elaborate neocities sites (which really are an artform) to the basic black-text-on-white-bg bearblogs.

    Content is important, too. Too many meta posts (e.g. "My blog workflow") can be a pain, but tinkerers gotta ticker!

  • Oh that's tough! I am awful at shmups, but also obsessed with them. I'll try to suggest a few

    • Crimzon Clover has different difficulty levels and modes to mess around with
    • I didn't have that much trouble with Cotton Fantasy (Cotton is a "cute" shmup)
    • Batsugun Special Version
    • Vimana
    • Exo-Calibre is quite easy (this is a cute'em up)

    I've probably only played about 30 different shmups, I can tell you that certain classics like R-Type are way harder than most shmups. Same goes for the Strikers games and Raiden too.

    If you have Steam (I don't) take advantage of the 2 hour return window and figure out if you like horizontal or vertical (Tate) shmups, bullet hell, danmaku, or frantic styles.

    I'm against violence. Stating facts is not condoning violence. Quentin was not an innocent choir boy, he was not ambushed in the manner that was originally reported, he was not left for dead; he refused to go to hospital after the fight and didn't call the emergency services until some time later.
