I’m usually the quiet one in the Discord. If it’s been a while since I’ve said something, but I wanna leave, but I don’t want to just leave without saying anything, I’ll usually just go, “aaaalright I’m leaving” and disconnect before anyone has time to say anything. Half that friend group is also on the spectrum so I don’t think anyone even finds it particularly odd.

Of course there’s a difference, one is a place where the mentally unwell go to get what they need before moving on in life, while the other is being defunded by the former.

Yup, I know your feel. The most recent example I can think of that has a good blend is the Halo series (at least on normal or hard). You can jump around to try to avoid getting shot, run to a different area, sometimes find different guns laying around to help certain situations. I had a good time replaying the original when it came to PC.

During any point while writing these comments, did you ever stop and think: “maybe these students have a good relationship with the professor and knew how he would react to such a prank”?

Like I’d get it if the guy said he was afraid of spiders and the following day someone put a fake spider on his desk. In that situation, they don’t know him well, the spider has a likelihood of being real, and a single person doing it without peer review can be iffy.

But this is weeks later, everyone agreeing that the professor would find it funny, and doing something that could in no way be perceived as “real”.
