  • We’ll have a big environmental 9/11 moment where a major American city becomes permanently uninhabitable and then there will alot of handwringing about “What could we have done!?” Then we’ll start getting lukewarm serious about it for maybe a few years, but by that point it’s way too late.

  • I really want to like AI, I’d love to have an intelligent AI assistant or something, but I just struggle to find any uses for it outside of some really niche cases or for basic brainstorming tasks. Otherwise, it just feels like alot of work for very little benefit or results that I can’t even trust or use.

  • Grew up in CT doing trick or treating and I’ve never even heard of that tradition before, that sounds like alot of work for everyone involved. Even after I came to OH, the idea of calling it “Beggar’s night” still seems wrong.

  • Everytime I get sick I think about this. “I am going to appreciate my life so much more when I’m not sick.” I appreciate not being sick for about five minutes before it just goes back to being whatever.

  • You kind of hum it as you’re sucking, bro says it actually makes the sensation feel better.

  • Occasionally I block users that are extremely bad for one reason or another. Honestly though, I have to block far more communities than users, and it’s mostly because of foreign languages. I have nothing against these communities, but if I can’t read any of their posts, they’re just noise. I’ve tried tinkering around with language settings, but for whatever reason I still seem to see at least one new one a week, and so I block it to clean up my feed. It just seems like something that should be easy, I’m a dumb American who only wants to see English communities, how hard is it to filter by language, or is this just a problem with my mobile client (Voyager)?

  • The way I see it is, if one side wins, the Left will not only have to worry about the Palestinians, but suddenly they’ll have to choose between protesting about all those other things AND it’ll be with a hostile government that will curtail civil rights and probably start committing abuses against US citizens.

If the other side wins, all those other issues become less of a danger and the Left can focus on keeping up the pressure on Democratic leadership to stop supporting Israel. It’s still not guaranteed, but it’s a much better chance than in the alternative world where out and out fascism takes over. Focus on what’s important, don’t needlessly add more problems on to the pile.

  • If anyone commits actual election fraud this election, it’ll be Republicans, likely using shit like this as evidence. “They’re doing it to us, we have to do it to them!”

  • Sucking my best friend’s dick. I’m sorry, but if my friend is having a bad day, giving him a bro-job is not gay.

  • “Caillou” is what we would call out our kids for being whiny. We used him as an example of how not to act and would call our kids “Caillou” when they started getting out line. Surprisingly effective.

  • Just got over that portion of being sick, but it’s evolved into a persistent cough now that’s hurting my abdomen I’m coughing so much. At one point I had to have two “stations” set up, a hot station for cooling down and cold station for warming back up. I would just bounce back and forth between the two as my temperature swung around wildly.

  • I’d probably try outside if I was going to let a woman try to hold it and aim, otherwise they’re gonna miss from just piss-poor aim or I’d start getting hard and that would make it even harder to aim.

  • Like who the fuck lived from 2016 through 2020 and thinks that that was anything other than a clusterfuck and wants to return to that again?

  • I also like to think of it as my Fappy Funtime Playroom

  • Just not using turn signals in general and lack of road etiquette is enough for me to judge people pretty verbally in my car, though nobody else ever hears it, so I guess it counts as a secret. You're driving a machine that can kill people out of negligence, the least you can fucking do is show some common courtesy and signal what you're intending to do with it and what direction you're going to move. People have more common courtesy when they're walking on the street and no danger to others, yet they moment they're behind a wheel and much more dangerous, it's like they have nothing but middle fingers for everybody else around them.

  • Oh, there's been some trickle down, it's just not anything having to do with money, it's been more of a golden shower that's been trickling down.

  • If I want to watch sex in a movie, I’ll watch a porno in my basement sex dungeon. If I want to watch something with family and friends without that weird awkward moment when SEX starts happening, I’ll watch a movie without a pointless sex scene in it.

  • Doubtful, GOP was perfectly willing to vote for a pedophile before, this is literally nothing to them.

  • Yeah, because that worked out so well when in 2016 when Trump got elected, the GOP got multiple Supreme Court picks, multiple federal judges were given life terms, and Roe vs Wade got struck down. Let's see how that plays out when Ukraine falls, war breaks out in Europe, America becomes a theocratic dictatorship, and what little progress we may have seen with the environment completely falls apart and the world goes full tilt towards becoming an uninhabitable hellscape. Whatever the protest was about will be utterly meaningless.

If you want to protest, you protest AFTER you get sympathetic ears into office, not after you get the opposition elected. Trump gets in, then suddenly he'll give you plenty to protest about, vs protesting when Harris is in office and she actually has a willingness to listen to protests and meet their demands.
