  • Whoops lol. I read that as "Half Life 2".

  • The minimum system requirements are on the Steam page. It looks like you blow those specs out of the water. This game came out 22 years ago, you'd be hard pressed to find a PC that couldn't play it even at the highest settings.

  • He died 6 years after the "groundbreaking" book in question was published. He was kind of right about some things, but wrong about a lot of the details.

It is definitely possible to shoot yourself in the head twice while trying to commit suicide. Your skull is actually very dense, and if you don't know exactly where to point, you could easily fuck it up, but still be conscious enough to finish the job. This infograhic has been around for years and persists because of its inflammatory nature even though it's incredibly misleading.

I highly recommend you read about this man regardless.

    His Wikipedia page:

  • The idea that I subscribe to is that a pedophile is more likely to commit child sexual abuse when there is some sort of normalization going on in the form of fictional depictions of csam (or in this case, dolls). A pedophile should come to the conclusion that these thoughts are wrong, and seek help in fighting urges through medication and therapy. If it is deemed okay to indulge "just a bit", it would probably make it easier to justify going over the edge because you wouldn't see it as "as wrong" if you are part of a community that is barely persecuted for it.

There will always be a lack of studies in this area though. When it comes to criminal elements, deals are cut and records aren't fully made public because so many people plead guilty to lesser charges and the full extent of their crimes aren't brought into the light.

  • That's legit a great takeaway

  • Every election is held on a Tuesday. Most of those people cannot afford to take a day off of work because capitalism has fucked them over so badly.

Republicans have also stymied any attempts to turn election day into a national holiday specifically for this reason.

  • Because of the electoral college, getting out to vote when you otherwise wouldn't have is almost entirely useless in most states as the party most states will side with is basically a forgone conclusion.

On top of that, the Republican party has spent decades making it deliberately difficult to vote by limiting the number of polling places, as well as limiting mail in voting.

The Democratic party on the other hand refuses to attempt radical economic upheaval that poorer US citizens desperately need because Democrats are still the "moderate" party that is in the pocket of billionaires.

The Republicans routinely promise radical actions that they say will make things better for everyone. They're lying of course, but it's hard to be exceptionally poor, have no access to health care and vote for the party that is not advocating radical actions on your behalf.

  • According to the article, it's on original story

  • I've got an old desktop PC hooked up to our TV running Linux Mint Debian Edition. Attach a wireless keyboard and track pad to it such as this and you've got an easy to use streaming device that you can also download to. And you can install Ublock Origin for ad free streaming.

If you want something more portable, you may be able to get your hands on a Walmart onn. TV Box 4K (2021) and install Lineage OS on it, which is a heavily deGoogled Android fork that would allow you to stream more similarly to devices running Google TV.

  • Depends on what you're looking for. I'm guessing you're more of neophyte to Linux or you probably wouldn't be asking.

I always recommend Linux Mint to newbies. It's very user friendly (more so than windows 11 imo), and it's a spin off of Ubuntu, so it's got great support behind it.

Ubuntu itself is a spin off of a distro called Debian, so if you ever have problems with Linux Mint and you can't find an answer on the very helpful Linux Mint forums, you could always search for your answer on Ubuntu's forums, or Debian's.

Arch based distros are better for newer hardware because it's bleeding edge, but that laptop looks so old that you probably wouldn't need anything like that.

  • Centrist Democrat politicians, sure. When they polled Centrist Democrat voters, they still supported it more often than not.

  • Bill Gates has a lot of money wrapped up in oil fields in North Dakota and other states.

  • Please elaborate.
