  • You know, I hope it turns out good. Because if it doesn't, it might devolve into another Ghostbusters 2016 situation and just thinking about that whole kerfuffle gives me a headache.

  • Not exactly a high bar to clear.

  • First off, I can't believe YouTube described its content as "high-quality", because most of it isn't. Second off, what the hell did Google expect? They've been doing a piss-poor job at reviewing their content for years and even when they actually do, they don't do it because they want to make the platform more comfortable for kids to use or anything virtuous like that, it was to make the advertisers happy. So yeah, now the governments are involved, tough shit.

  • Fine, then "more ugly and cumbersome" than it needs to be. I frequently have to hook up laptops to devices that simply don't have wifi (think unconfigured network devices like routers and the like), so connecting via cable is the only option. Having a gigantic, plastic, snag-prone wart sticking out of my laptop certainly wouldn't help matters.

  • And the ugly and cumbersome ethernet expansion card.

  • Which sounds impressive until you realize a janitor who worked there for the same amount of time could claim the same.

  • What's that table thing above Mario and Toad? Was that in the original game? I can't remember.

  • Decoctoy sounds...lewd.

  • Not sure. How interesting would you find a desert planet?

  • Similar story here. I had a laptop running nVidia/Intel dual graphics for a few years and it was so fucking finicky. Primusrun this, optirun that. Ugh. Once upon a time, whenever I heard the word Optimus, I thought of transforming trucks with laser guns. Hearing that same word now puts me in a fetal position.

To any GeForce owners that are considering going Linux full time: do a test run first and see how it works out, because nVidia support on Linux is spotty at best.

  • The message itself is very nice, but the green text at the bottom is hard to read, because it kind of blends together with the backgroud.

  • Looks fine to me

  • All the more reason for this man to continue his good work. The drivers have clearly demonstrated that they care less about kids' safety and care more about arriving at the next red light eight seconds sooner.

  • I have the Flydigi Vader 4 Pro with the USB dongle. And yes, it's plug and play.

  • Can't remember what the title is, but it was a multiplayer shooter (mayber Counter-Strike?), where at multiple points in the video he goes "Yeehaw." in the calmest voice possible while unloading his whole magazine into someone.

  • The only time an average person will care about privacy is when it's taken away from them. Generally speaking, people just don't care so don't worry about it too much.

  • Previously, on Best of Netflix: price increases, flip-flopping on their account sharing stance (currently on "don't do that"), removing shows without warning, iffy show recommendations by their algorithm, inability to watch shows offline etc.

So, if you're not already pirating at this point I have to ask: what are you waiting for? Seriously, why are you giving these companies money?

  • I really enjoyed season 1 and I thought the finale was pretty bold. Then season 2 happened. Without going into spoilers, watching season 2 felt like watching Death Note Season 3 or Star Wars: The Last Jedi. That is to say, there was much confusion and anger.

  • "We want more money." There, that's the article.
