Hi there!

  • Ah yes, hooman fee-mayles!

Does anyone else find it unhealthily creepy the way people put a voice to pets like this to anthropomorphise them, and gives them a creepy toddler voice to boot?

They're smart in their own ways, but they don't think the way we do, and we'll never know exactly what they're thinking or why. Let's not presume to know what's going on inside their heads.

And let's not presume to add our own vocal track to their thoughts. Especially a creepy toddler one.

  • Which of the items in the list do you disagree with?

There's one thing in there that I could certainly understand somebody reasonably not entirely supporting, at least.

  • I'd hardly call it creative or inspiring.

It's good that it wasn't just built as an ugly rectangle, but I could have come up with that basic design in 10 minutes, and I'm not very creative.

Still, it's better than the alternative! Hopefully it's nicer inside too?

  • 49% chance the world will end in just 25 years

Giant meteor coming to wipe out all of the world's life?

predicted civilisation could collapse by 2050

Oh, so just the collapse of current civilisation. That's happened many, many times already.

While not a good thing for those experiencing it, consider this. As we look back on previous civilisations, would we consider ours to generally be the best up to now? I'd say so. Perhaps what comes next will be even better.

The collapse of a particularly large civilisation is usually a slow affair that is difficult even to spot from the inside as it's happening (consider the slow crumbling of the USA currently for example).

So while it is a period of turmoil and not a small amount of suffering, it's not like everybody is going to die and humanity will go extinct, or anything.

  • This looks gorgeous! Makes me want to get out of bed and go cook, but I should be sleeping xD

  • Are citizens of any fascist nation really valuable customers to people with morals?

I mean, sure, people in that country used to be great, and they can certainly be again if they defeat the evils at home. But right now? I'm not sure it's wise to support a nation turning to evil any more than is necessary :-(

  • Americans fucking with the rest of us again? Why am I not surprised.

There's so many good people in that country, I hope they can take down their evil fascist government and restore decency before we have to cut ties entirely to mitigate the damage they're trying to do.

Our alliance with them is currently dying a death by a thousand cuts. Keep this up and eventually it'll be over, sadly.

  • Fascist Techno-Oligarch Elon Musk obviously shouldn't be given any control over the United Kingdom's vital national infrastructure. His track record speaks for itself.

No private for-profit business or individual, international or national, should EVER control our key national infrastructure.

Electricity, Water, Sewage, Health Service, Internet connectivity, Roads, Trains, Military, Aeroplane infrastructure, Fire Brigade, Education, Street Lighting, Police Service, etc.

All are vital to the nation and the public interest, and should be owned by the people of the nation and managed by the democratically elected governing body the people have placed in charge to run things, without the capitalist profits driven mindsets of private individuals.

This just seems like obvious common sense to me, and yet here we are, sadly.

  • Wild that all of Africa is a "sandy desert" in which everyone was starving when we arrived. There was me thinking it was a huge diverse continent full of life and bountiful natural resources.

  • What's the limit at her company for her job, though? I'm assuming that's the limit we're discussing here, unless she was trying to drive the plane.

  • Is there a way to limit it to news from Europe, or at least stop it heavily leaning into American stuff?

I took a peek but it's too often USA this and USA that, and I'm a little sick of hearing about that country in general these days, haha.

    Thankee sai <3

  • It's weird that I never get any of that sort of guff, same with YouTube suggestions, they're always at minimum decent quality things I might be interested in.

I've never been recommended a Mister Beast video, for example, or any of that rubbish.

Not that I want to just lean on Google services or anything, it's just really weird that the algorithm works so well for me and so poorly for other people. I really wish I knew why!

  • DID YOU NOW?

  • They graffitied two planes in protest against England's support of Israel's genocide, which makes them evil dangerous terrorists!

Not that I'd support them of course, I'm no terrorist - I fully support whatever genocides my country wants to participate in please do not gulag me Kid Starver oh no he's in the hou

  • The nation of Nazi Germany's flag is literally called:

    "Reich and National Flag"

The nation itself no longer exists of course, but it's still a national flag.

Anyway, to the original point of the post, dang, those Americans are really doing some weird uncool stuff these days eh? Here's hoping they can purge their internal fascism before it's too late.

Alas, I suspect they'll continue to lie down and let it happen, much as the Weimar Republic did :-(

  • More than 100,000 passengers from across the world have been left stranded after Air Canada's staff strike over pay.

As always, the media framing the Public as the victims and the Strikers as the belligerents causing problems.
