  • There was no argument. It was another one of his own comments. He said something along the lines of "you people are morons". And that got deleted. But because he was so mad, he decided to insult me again, but in a way that wouldn't get removed. Or maybe it would if it got reported, but I cba. It's higher chance of him replying and further making my point this way. xD

  • Exactly. He went from insulting my intelligence in one word to having to use more. But it's still the same reply in essence. Not sure what you're trying to add here, however. Probably same as always, just posturing and pretending you're right hoping nobody would care to check.

  • Yeah, it's true that in this case most people would never have to care about that. When I replied I was thinking about inheritance taxes in general. My bad.

  • Seeing as how I actually watched his video and looked at their sources and other sources and only after that did I reply? Yes. And even to this day I still leave room for doubt. I still think the truth is actually somewhere in the middle. Not you, tho. You're convinced that what you believe is correct.

  • Not that insane. Most people only concern themselves with their own issues. And if you're a 40 year old whose childhood home is now worth 500k or whatever and you have to pay 200k in taxes in order to inherit it, then you probably want to vote against it because otherwise the government will take it.

Okay, take all that with a grain of salt because I'm not too familiar with inheritance law, but it's based on multiple similar stories I've heard from people.

I still think it should be taxed, don't get me wrong. But I understand why people are against it.

  • You're arguing with a guy that doesn't want to change their mind. He literally sent me a video whose sources contradicted him and guess what happened when I pointed that to him? Never bothered to reply and he still uses that video as proof that he's right.

  • It's not just any company, it's a law firm 10 years after founding...Yeah, it could be a law firm that's barely scraping by in some village with 3 other law firms, but I highly doubt it. Plus it's a joke. The punchline is that the person is loaded.

  • Depends on the denomination, I think. Dunno about others but for Orthodox Christians the soul goes to heaven(or gets to be judged by God, actually) after 40 days because that's how long Jesus took to ascend after his death.

  • Yeah, fuck musicians for wanting to make a living... They should all have a day job or just starve like all the greats... JFC, you people are just something...

  • Well, even if trump himself can weather that storm, the rest of the powerful people in there might not. Either that or it's just a distraction.

  • That's most likely made by whoever is taking care of the tree. They sometimes rot cause of some disease so the rotten part is taken out. I've seen some that were so large and had such big pieces missing that they looked as if they were two trees that fused together. Pretty cool.

  • Looks like an olive tree. They all have those twisty trunks. They're pretty cool. They're somehow trying to follow the movements of the earth and apparently that's what's causing the weirdness.

  • Even DotA itself was inspired by Aeon of Strife which was a StarCraft map. There were a few AOS-like maps at the time but DotA became the most popular. Then Riot came along and approached an ex DotA designer to help them make a successor. They also approached the owner of dota-allstars.com which at the time was the main site for DotA. Discussions, hero suggestions, fan art, pretty much anything dota related was there. Then, the owner, Fuck Pendragon, took the entire site down and replaced it with a LoL ad. Ofc all those hero suggestions were taken and implemented into LoL without crediting the creators. A few years later he also tried to use blizzard to sue valve for the dota rights but blizz and valve settled it out of court without him.

  • You do realize that it's mainly the poor people who are suffering when the rich don't get taxed, right? It's the governments getting robbed, yes, but that wasn't the main takeaway from that comment.

  • The steam page says they've sold 500k copies now. Jesus. Game looks good and it's PvE, so.. might get it, I guess

  • Everything is a CIA psyop nowadays. Everything bad happens because of the USA. Everything good happens because people are strong enough to resist US influence.

Look at Cuba. Amazing government that provides free healthcare and people are super educated. And all the issues that they have are because of the US embargo. All the other issues like freedom of speech and whatnot are not actually real, just another CIA psyop.

So see? The USA is both super powerful and super weak.

  • My bad, I must've tunnel visioned on some things. But in my defense, the original argument was that he wasn't doing enough good, not that he wasn't flawed enough. And with that we're changing the subject and getting too much into subjectivity. He's not perfect, far from it.. he's paranoid, his relationships with other characters are far from good or normal because of his issues.. his handling of the joker.. etc. Could there have been more focus on his flaws and issues? Sure, but that has nothing to do with the original discussion of "why isn't he using his money to make Gotham a better place". Which he is, despite what you might say or think. Just because they're not giving us all the details that doesn't mean that he isn't. That's an artistic choice. You might disagree with that choice, but that doesn't change the canon.

If there's one line in the first issue that says "when he's not busy fighting bad guys, he spends his time investing in social programs and hires ex-convicts in his company in order to reform them and bla bla" and then never mentions it again for the next 300 issues? Then we have to assume that he's still doing that, because that's what the writer said. It's the Batman comics, not the Bruce Wayne comics.

  • Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was a different but similar game from the same person. Even the background story was the same or similar. So.. maybe just new account
