  • I feel you missed the start of this thread. People weren’t talking about the entire US, or even all of Montana. It was about that specific area that seems to have way lower car usage, in Montana.

  • Iran would be even more of a nightmare. It’s super mountainous, it has deserts. MILLIONS of people. One of the biggest armies in the world. How would that be better??

  • He was born in 1947 though. I don’t think someone who made a painting in 47 would still be alive.

  • That sounds very much like documentary cinema though. Like Koyaanisqatsi or something.

And honestly maybe something like Koyaanisqatsi but Capitalism might be pretty powerful. Now that I think more about it…

  • Good: some treats that came out this decade were nice?

Bad: most were absolute hypercapitalist shit. The world is falling apart. Seems like everyone just forgot about global warming. Hope is dwindling. Anger is rising.

  • The meme is real 😦

  • That would make more sense to me if the soft power they were destroying was actually expensive, in terms of money/materials or time/people.

USAID was a pitiful amount. It was barely any effort.

I think the attack on Venezuela and their new stance to just take over everything around them is more indicative of what you’re saying.

But dismantling soft power still seems like a shot on the foot. With soft power they would be able to keep more control over Europe, South and Central America, Africa etc. To shore up more support for their more overt actions.

I think that if they don’t actually believe the crazy world building they are acting on, they put themselves into a corner by running on and amplifying the most illogical, contradictory and self-defeating conspiracies. So they don’t have really any other path than to dismantle “globalist communist trans”, and act like THE BIG DOG.

  • I have a theory that the people currently in power bought into the propaganda as much as anyone.

They believe the lies about the “international community”, and the US being a “good guy cop”. And that makes them angry. They want a bad and strong USA, that fully controls the world directly.

Why would they dismantle USAID otherwise? They actually believed the propaganda that USAID was just helping people around the world.

They understand the empire less than us? Idk.

  • And she’s much more of a “chavista”, or even leftist, than Maduro lol

  • Mac is great for emulators, so you have that.

Also mac native games, like ones you can buy on the App Store (cyberpunk etc.) run great on most M chip macs.

Also, Crossover might be a solution for some games. It works for most games fine, some work great, and some don’t work at all.

There’s also other cloud gaming services, where you can emulate a whole computer and just download steam games. Most are cheaper than gamepass 🤷‍♂️

    I mean come on!

  • 😦

talking about things and vulnerability are my deepest fears

  • Not really a great comparison though.

You’d have the entire weight, knowledge and land maintenance and management of generations of your ancestors to help.

A random bunch of modern Americans with guns being dropped in the middle of nowhere is not the same thing at all…

Like “before agriculture”, which we are learning more and more makes little sense, people still managed plants in large scales. The woods around your village would be kept clean, and edible plants would be incentivized to grow. Hunting trails kept and traps set. Chances are there would be robust fishing with nets, as most humans lived near water.

And also, even “before agriculture”, there was horticulture. People grew and kept small gardens in their villages with edible plants. Many fruits and perennial edible vegetables were ‘domesticated’ “before agriculture”.

Chances are, if you weren’t born in a time of wild weather events, and you lived around 30o up or down the equator, you’d be fine food wise. You’d help with food, some people might be specialized in it, and your diets are diverse and healthy. You’d do other stuff with your time, make ceremonial clothes and instruments, weave, make baskets, make stone tools, make art, train children in crafts and arts, maybe you’d be the woodsman keeping the woods clean, safe, and teeming with edible plants.

Life obviously wouldn’t be easy, because even simple disease or injury could kill the average person. And with small numbers (100-150 is more realistic), it’s easy to reach numbers too small to maintain society with one or two disasters.

But on a day to day basis, life is for sure much easier and calm than a typical “post-agriculture” society.

  • I prefer to see my new year as only really starting first day of spring, like the gods intended. I refuse to abide by silly Roman emperors and their ideas.

  • Omg if you’re still up for it I’d love a card pull 🙏 I love cards and I love witchy shit so this is perfect in my book

  • That’s a mischaracterization of what he meant. “Corporate” for the Italian fascists is not the same as “corporations” in the modern Americanized way.

The “corpus” was the body, and corporate means uniting the guilds, or parts of the “corpus”/body, into the state, which is the “head”. So it’s basically a metaphor for the nation as a body, which in Latin is corpus.

It’s basically syndicalism, but if the state controlled all unions and not the other way around.

  • They are experts in death, not life!

But on a serious note, isn’t forensics a specific college degree? I would assume people study anatomy a lot in college, for forensics. Idk 🤷‍♂️

  • That’s a misconception on what a vanguard party is. But in truth it’s a misconception some (usually young and misinformed) MLs also make.

A “vanguard party” is a post hoc definition. You can’t have a “vanguard party” in the now. The “vanguard party” is just the group of people ahead ideologically during a revolution, and who guide and lead the people. And it’s only something you can actually say after the revolution is over, when the dust settled.

No group should self define as a vanguard, or should even try to be one. That makes very little sense.

When the revolution happens, some people and some groups will naturally emerge as leaders (as in leading the way, not sowing orders). And it won’t be the people who called themselves “the vanguard” even before a revolution even started.

You can see that in history, no revolutionary group in any successful revolution called themselves the vanguard party. Specially not during the revolution. Not the Chinese Communists, not the Bolsheviks, not the Cuban revolutionaries, not Ho Chi Minh etc etc.

That’s what the original definition of what a vanguard party was. A post hoc descriptor of the “most advanced” group in a revolution, given after the revolution is over.

Also, never heard any communist or ML say or think that “centralized leadership” was a requirement for anything. You’re probably be mixing up “democratic centralism” with centralized leadership.

And democratic centralism is just how all organizations work really. If there’s a discussion, that is followed by a vote, and a decision is made, all organization members should abide by the decision. Regardless if they voted for or against it. That’s just the basics on how an organization can even be, well, organized.

  • I mean, the Soviets were also researching this shit as much as the Americans 🤷‍♂️

It was more like the CIA finding out the Soviets were training psychics and then rushing to do their own experiments, but ending up drugging a bunch of college kids and turning them into mass shooters. “Accidentally” of course.
