Pretty similar to coastal Maine too. Reading the headline immediately made me wonder if New England is preparing at all. They’ve been having brush fires the last few summers, along with air alerts from the Canadian smoke.
We were just in Vermont and Burlington had a lot of no-mow zones and lots of butterfly gardens in the areas we biked.
We saw a lot of monarchs earlier (seemed more than previous years) in the summer too, but it got super dry and we haven’t seen as many lately. And also our observations are purely anecdotal and unscientific.
Our cuckoo clock was pretty smart (and all mechanical gravity and bellows powered).
It would open the door, the bird would then chirp the number of hours and then retract at the end.
