  • Schau mal nach, ob es in der Nähe deines Wohnortes eine Bundes- oder Landeszentralbank gibt. Diese sind verpflichtet, Kleingeld wie 1, 2, 5, 10, 20-Cent-Münzen umzutauschen, ohne dafür Kosten zu erheben - ganz im Gegensatz zu anderen Banken, Sparkassen oder Münzwechselautomaten, wie man sie manchmal in Einkaufszentren findet.

  • Einerseits gut, dass Signal sich der geplanten Einführung von Hintertüren, auch mit der Konsequenz, den europäischen Markt aufzugeben, entgegenstellt, andererseits wäre das echt bitter, wenn künftig Messenger auf vermeintlich kriminelle Inhalte durchsucht werden können.

    Und natürlich alles unter dem Deckmantel des Kinderschutzes. Erst ist es nur der Schutz der Kinder, den grundsätzlich jeder befürwortert, und später geht es dann um ganz andere Dinge: politische Ausrichtung, Support von LGBT, etc.

    Ich habe vor längerer Zeit mal gelesen, dass der Missbrauch von Kindern überwiegend innerhalb des eigenen Familiengefüges stattfindet. Eine Überwachung der Messenger-Apps würde also überhaupt keinen Sinn machen. Und wer solche Inhalte teilt, weiss einereits, dass diese verboten sind, andererseits würden diese Inhalte dann auf eine Weise geteilt, die nicht von der Chat-Kontrolle betroffen wären.

    Leider juckt es die Nutzer nicht, weil sie eh WhatsApp benutzen. Man will ja nicht noch eine App nur für zwei Leute installieren. Die werden sich erst umgucken, wenn auch das Sideloading auf Andriod-Geräten nicht mehr möglich ist. Dann könnte es zu spät sein.

  • Sehe ich ganz ähnlich: Es wird immer weniger auf BlueRay oder DVD angeboten (insbesondere neuere Sachen), und Streaming ist einfach weniger Aufwand. Ich glaube auch, dass die Masse sich weiterhin mit enshiffiziertem Streaming abfinden wird, und Piraterie auch ein gewisses technisches Verständnis voraussetzt (z.B. das Einrichten eines VPN und andere Maßnahmen). Vielen ist es diesen Aufwand nicht wert. Die meisten Quellen sind auch schon lange versiegt (wie z.B. Megavideo oder Kino(x).to und andere damals bekannte Portale, die die Piratierie convenient gemacht haben).Ich halte es für sehr wichtig und erstrebenswert, die Produkte, welche man käuflich erwirbt, auch zu besitzen. Dann ist man nämlich unabhängig von Anbietern, die Serien und Filme wieder aus dem Sortiment nehmen können, sei es aus monetären Gründen oder aus vorauseilendem Gehorsam, wenn Inhalte möglicherweise plötzlich als kontrovers gelten. Auch bei einem Ausfall des Internets kann man dann auf die eigenen erworbenen Dinge zurückgreifen.

    Was in dem Video vor allem deutlich wird, ist die enorme Summe der einzelnen Abos, die für sich gesehen nicht wehtun: Hier mal 10 Euro, da mal 12 Euro usw. Am Ende ist man bei mehreren hundert Euro im Monat - und zwar nicht für die tatäschlich konsumierten Inhalte, sondern für die Option auf Zugang zu den Inhalten.

    That must be new then. As far as I can remember, last time I linked a Youtube video, the title was suggested automatically.

  • What could help regarding clickbait titles is to add a short description in the body about the video content ("This video is about [topic]"). One short sentence shoud suffice. Most videos are embedded (at least on desktop), and such added description would be displayed underneath the emdedded video. This way you will know what the video will be about and can decide if it would be worth watching.

    When creating a post containing a video there is an option to auto-suggest the title, as it is often the same from the video source. Most posters use this, as it matches the video title from the source.

    I think video titles shouldn't be changed, no matter how much clickbaity the titel is, because the video most likely is named the same on the original source (Youtube mostly).

    I don't care about the appearence of thumbnails. To me they are indicators that this is a video and that you have to click on it in order to play.I know of a Youtube channel that uses clickbaity thumbnails deliberately, because they are so ridiculous (thumbnails contain red circles or arrows that point somewhere and faces that show a surprised or stunned expression). These thumbnails in particular don't represent the videos' content at all.

  • Ein Social-Media-Verbot, ähnlich wie es schon jetzt bei einem Alkohol-Verbot gehandhabt wird, wird sich nicht umsetzen lassen, da ist die Büchse der Pandora schon geöffnet. Das Erzwingen der Anbieter, "suchtfreie Algorithmen" einzusetzen, halte ich für naiv. Das wäre ungefähr so, als würde man Autohersteller zwingen, nur noch Kleinwagen zu produzieren. Wird nicht passieren.

    Kinder und Jugendliche lernen ja in erster Linie von ihrem Umfeld. Wenn die (zum Teil exessive) Soical-Media-Nutzung denen vorgelebt wird, dann übernehmen Sie diese Verhaltensweisen, und in Verbindung mit dem Gruppenzwang ("jeder auf dem Schulhof hat TikTok") adaptieren die Kinder das schnell.

    Meiner Meinung nach kann man die Social-Media-Nutzung nur dadurch einschränken, in dem sich Schulen ein Smartphone-Verbot auferlegen, und dieses Hausrecht dann auch bei Verstößen konsequent durchgesetzt wird.

    Eltern, denen die Bildung/ Erziehung ihrer Kinder am Herzen liegt, die also da hinterher sind, bringen ihren Kindern schon im Elternhaus, also im Rahmen der Erziehung, eine gewisse grundlegende Medienkompetenz mit auf den Weg.

  • China hat uns an den Eiern. Deswegen halten wir schön die Füße still. Jahrzehntelange Profitgier hat dazu geführt, dass die heimische Fertigung allmählich nach China verlagert worden ist. Mittlerweile baut China Prodiukte gleichwertiger Qualität.

    Zwar benötigt China uns als deren Absatzmarkt für alle möglichen Produkte, aber unsere Abhängigkeit von China ist viel größer: China stellt nicht nur die Dinge her, die im Tchibo-Regal im Supermarkt angeboten werden, sondern auch viele Halbfertigprodukte für die Industrie. Auch Medikamente werden aus China importiert, näheres kann man hier nachlesen. Medikamente hier herzustellen hat sich als nicht profitabel erwiesen.

  • With all the world (at least western nations) drifting backwards at least into nationalism (some countries even at full throttle into fascism), this could be used as an advantage: Why not shifting the narrative into the direction, that a stable, clean and healthy enviroment is pinnacle of patriotism (like the narrative of a healthy body was used in national-socialist propaganda 90 years ago in Germany), along with renewable energy that makes each nation independent from others. Wind turbines and solar power for freedom, so to say. Things like coal rolling or similar acts like wasting resources will be deemed as un-patriotic then.
