Yeah, having to customize with env variables is not great, and adding bookmarks is much easier in superfile. Anyway I suposse one does not set bookmarks to often. Plus nnn was so fast I just tapped they keys to get to the directory I needed easily. Once I learned most shortcuts I was flying trough operarions.
It had some functionalities that nnn did not have like displaying processes or favourite directories and such. In the end I got back to nnn because I read that superfile had internet access plus the fact that I use a graphical file manager for things that nnn or many terminal file managers can not do with extensive plugins.
I get the idea automation, its great when it saves time and effort but when it represents a minuscule chance of chopping a limb off you it should never be implemented to the public.
In any case I agree with you and I make my gaps as small as possible while still visually sensible. Even on a large monitor there is not much point making gaps larger past some point.
Oh, I had this issue but I never solved it, I just had other apps that did not have this particular sidebar type. you should probably try to solve the GTK inspecrtor issue mentioned in one of the comments.
Jokes aside, Edubuntu should cover you parental controls and Education tools needs. And since it comes with Gnome by default the UI should comfortable to your children. I suggest diving into it if you need more something sprecific. Good luck!
PS: There are some good articles flying around about how to convert your loved ones to linux. I have one measly convert and my advice is to show them how can linux solve their problems.
That is the point. Unless Gentoo has a user-friendly graphical installer that offers minimal dekstop options that does everything automatically for you there is no point of comparison.
I got the same issue, I was using Gradience to set gtk3/4 themes and that panel never got themed. Apps like Overskride have this issue too. I already had my preferred apps themed correctly so I did not bother.
ArcticonsYou can look them up in F-Droid, they have 3-4 versions, dark, light, material you and one that changes depending on the time of the day(dark/light).PS: it does not work on any Launcher, it has instructions for compatible launchers(20+?) within the app.
