  • It's right now. Indies everywhere, and we've successfully gotten past the worst of the always-online bullshit and PTW that plagued the early part of the millennium. More than half of my "all time favorite" games are still in active production today (sometimes continued by fans), and I'm not a young guy.

  • I'm a big Neal Stephenson fan, but the Baroque Cycle was a friggen' case study in his worst failing at the time: Unable to to tye all the narrative threads into a neat ending, he just. kept. writing. book after book until he finally petered out.

  • If I'm shopping, as opposed to just buying, it's because I don't already have a brand I prefer. Or because I'm thrifting. There a few brands I avoid for quality or ethics reasons, but mostly I'll take whatever fits best at a reasonable price.

  • Perfect Jeans are great for standing and walking, but not so good for biking. But since my commute is twenty minutes and my shift is nine hours, they're still my go-tos.

  • Westerners, what's your impression on the Chinese Diaspora? And what does the people around your area of residence think of the Chinese Diaspora?

  • I don't really have a lot of experience with it.

    When I was in college I knew a lot of students who came from China and weren't planning to return after graduation, and I knew a lot of students who were children of professionals who had done the same a generation ago.

    But since leaving college I have not really interacted with first or second generation Chinese immigrants.
