  • I still ran into a "don't give them what they want, call your reps!" comment on the video of the woman being executed. Some liberals are truly hopeless. (But hopefully the people actually doing the work do a better job wisening up.)

  • I could totally see Trump sending troops for some big dramatic photo ops, but they'd just arrive to zero military resistance. The only thing I'd expect the Danes to do is provide policing for the arriving troops, because they'll quash any local protests before letting anyone lay on a finger on the yankees.

  • but I really would not be surprised with some kind of popular neo-fascist pro-EU political movement that does want to bring back industry

I mostly agree with this, but I think the cold hard reality is that Europe is fucked energy-wise, no matter what they do now. Europeans can bark all they want, but can they re-industrialize to any significant degree without either American LNG or Russian oil?

  • If you consult my handy diagram, you can see that the AI bubble is currently being bodyblocked by the end of US dollar hegemony, the hollowing out of US manufacturing, the collapsing consumer economy, a lost trade war, ICE pogroms, and probably a dozen other minor and interlinked crises:

(not pictured, JDPON Don doing his darnedest to shove everything through the doorway)

But seriously, I am starting to wonder if they'll just be able to drag out the AI bullshit until the dollar's reserve status hits some critical mass where the floor of the US consumer economy just completely collapses because who would want to export manufactured goods to the US in exchange for monopoly money? I can see a (very near) future where the slop machines are still going strong, but food riots start breaking out nationwide.

  • If you're comfortable with javascript/node, I bet Playwright could do this easily. It's a Javascript framework for building tests that run automated operations against websites. It has everything you need to to launch a browser, open a website, find the input, input whatever text, and submit it.

  • The exact algorithm they use is not public, but the general consensus is that: don't shoot anyone (even in retaliation) and don't loot raider corpses (even if you didn't kill them) and you will get placed into friendly lobbies within 10-20 rounds. If you do either of things, you get placed back into aggressive lobbies for at least a few rounds.

For people wanting to go pve from pvp, it seems really simple to just do a bunch of matches using the game's generous free loadout system, and take a few deaths until whatever flag or value they use sends you to friendly lobbies.

Overall, seems like it works really well for placing people in exactly the types of matches they want to be in, without locking people in. Both pvp-ers and pve-ers seem happy with it, which is rare lol.

  • ARC Raiders, I bought it after learning about their (new?) aggression-based matchmaking. I've got almost 20 hours in by now, and have only been attacked by other raiders twice! It's nice being able to enjoy the game without having to worry about sweats and griefers.

I love exploring the maps, finding secrets, and taking cathartic rage out on the ARC ai

  • He just hates script kiddies and only wants to party with people cool enough to make their own PCBs

  • Tfw when you realize the McMansion roof lines are actually a complex language pointing to the HOA's secret stash of relics

  • There are absolutely developments like this all over the US, but I think this photo is AI because it only has 2 cars visible and neither of them are pickups.

  • Related to this, Trump's recent signing of an EO to reschedule Marijuana should really be shoved in those fucking nerds' faces as one of the many examples of "oh turns out this good thing was super fucking easy for the president to do and Biden could have chosen to do it at any time but didn't."

  • Loved this game, the main mechanic is really fun. It's pretty short, too, my playtime is just over 4 hours completing all the levels.

  • And if you do get a tummy ache, definitely do NOT drink anti-electrons to cancel it out

  • Good thing I drink tap water out of metal bottles (which are all also lined with plastic).

  • On a meta level, a lot of the complaints about Carol are ironically starting to sound like her character. Particularly, when we see her go to an ice hotel, and she's completely unable to enjoy it, even visibly frustrated that the bed is made out of ice. That scene plays in my head every time I read someone suggesting the show would somehow be improved without Carol (or the long scenes of no-dialogue visual storytelling, for that matter).

And I know someone is gonna be like, "nuh uh, it's not the same, unlike booking at an ice hotel I didn't know what the show was going into it!" and I'm sorry to tell you that it's too late, I've already depicted you all as virgin immune and grumpy Carols and myself as the gigachad planetwide and happy hive mind

  • Asking to shorten/remove the message would have undercut the most important point of those scenes, though. The whole thing is depicted like a classic couple's fight, and Carol not wanting to even acknowledge the voicemail tells us a ton about her current mental and emotional state. (This also all pays off later, when she reconnects with Zosia literally like exes getting back together.)

Haven't y'all ever been in a fight with someone to the point that you don't even want to give them the satisfaction of knowing that something they did bothers you? Well, this is Carol doing that with the entirety of humanity, lol.
