  • Woooo!

  • False dichotomy. Both of these things suck.

  • Nice. Too bad Slashdot doesn't show the date an account was created. I would like to what year I made mine, Around 30,000 so I know it's pretty early, but would that be '98, '99,or '00?Don't know. My Fark profile was created 2002.

  • What about my 5 digit Slashdot uid number? Does anyone remember Slashdot?

  • I get this is an endurance test, but this sounds miserable. Not being able to lie down for 3 months would be awful.

  • I first encountered kidz bop about 2010ish when my wife's sister was playing it for her kids at a family gathering. I'm still scarred from the experience. That day I vowed if I ever had kids that travesty would never be allowed in my house. Since having a daughter I've endured Frozen, Taylor Swift, and Kpop demon hunters. But the evil that is Kidz Bop has never graced a speaker in our house!

  • That's exactly how I like it. Terminal, white text on black background. Browser, etc in light mode.

  • I find that not doing something is relatively easy (like don't eat meat or stop alcohol, both of which I succeeded in), but starting something or gaining a new "habit" is damn near impossible. Basically it's the OP's scenario. Get super excited and way into whatever thing (go to the gym, study, get up early) then 2 weeks later it falls apart.

  • thanks for the tip, I'll check out krohnkite

  • Been a KDE user for many years. I recently started using Niri with DankMaterialShell, and it's pretty awesome. I suspect at some point I'll drift back to my beloved KDE. But I'm loving the new shiny thing at the moment.

  • I keep a win10 VM around that I fire up on the rare instance I need to do something in windows. I agree with forgetting about dual boot.

  • Sí. AIQ

  • All my airport signs run Arch, BTW.

  • Right, the thing that caught my eye was running a full desktop OS for a sign board.

  • Kid Rock is country? I thought he was shitty rap rock. Or is any MAGA artist now deemed "country"?

  • It's the English way

  • And then one day you find Ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run You missed the starting gun

  • Lake disappointment (contains no water)

Well, that would be very disappointing if your lake had no water. So I think they nailed that one.

  • I absolutely love driving my car, a manual VW GTI, which is pretty much a "driver's car" and I think it's dumb, too. If people like it then that's cool, but not for me.
