  • I like the way Ben Norton explains the firewall as a sort of a tariff, that decreases network effects for foreign apps and increases them for domestic ones. He didn't use the term network effects but that's I think the briefest way to explain it. raising the barrier creates a space for domestic apps even if there is some porosity
