  • That style of blocking makes sense for more personal social media, but I don’t think it fits a public forum like the Threadiverse. On Reddit, bad actors were able to weaponize blocking to hide from anyone who would disagree with them, anyone who would push back against misinformation. That did a lot more harm than good.

Everything you post here is public, and you should expect that anyone can see it, even people you do not like. If you don't want to see someone you don't like, that's what blocking is for, but you shouldn't expect to be able control who can see your posts when they're all public to begin with.

If something is so sensitive that you think you need to hide it from someone you don't like, then this probably isn't the platform to post it on at all.

  • Users can submit annotations with text and a coordinate. That's handled by the booru software in its own database, stored separately from the image file, overlaid on the web page using JavaScript.

I don't know of any image format that supports this functionality built-in. Could be useful, but it'd be very hard to achieve adoption over what's already entrenched. Look at how much people currently complain about WebP.

  • Then why comment at all?

  • I couldn't believe they announced the Pokémon Legends DLC before the game is even out. "I know you haven't given us your money yet, but... please can we have some more? 🥺"

Doesn't every AAA do that these days?

  • Apparently they're selling two versions. One is the full scale VB, and that's clearly a collector's item. The other is the VB-themed Labo VR.

  • Mother 3.

  • And if Nintendo thought Wario Land was so great then why did they stop making those games like 2 decades ago?

Because the last games didn't sell so well, and because the staff that worked on them have other projects.

Just because a game didn't get infinite sequels forever doesn't mean no one can appreciate the originals. By that logic, Chrono Trigger must be one of the worst JRPGs of all time to you.

  • It's a VB-themed redesign of the Labo VR kit. Should presumably be compatible with everything Labo VR supported (like, three titles I think?). Maybe the fact that they're bringing it back means they might reuse it in the future?

  • Well, no Splatoon Raiders was a surprise, was sure that'd be featured. I called Mario sports, Fire Emblem, and Yoshi.

  • Love the art style. In-game actually looks better than the cutscenes.

  • I've got a lot of nostalgia for DS homebrew. Tons of fun things you can do with a flashcart.

3DS too, but although modding was a lot more widespread due to how easy it was, I feel like homebrew games were kinda lacking. Custom themes were great at least.

  • Can you not think of a single other use case for quotes besides dunking? Is that all you think it ever could be for?

  • Quotes can be used for more than just dunking, you know. I think it's good to put up just a little bit of friction to minimize that kind of usage. But if you really, really, really just want to dunk on someone, you already said that you can use screenshots for that, so there you go.

  • I wonder which shooting the media will spend more time talking about.

  • Look at gacha games. There's an entire industry revolving around selling anime girls, and when you realize that's what the business model is, it's not surprising how toxic their fanbases have become. I've suspected that some of these devs are even deliberately trying to filter their audience to the most desperate gooners.

  • Watching new trailers is fun.

  • People have been calling albums 'dead' since radio, since MTV, since iTunes, and yet the vast majority of artists still release albums.

  • A full hour, wow. I expect we'll get closer looks at Metroid Prime 4 and Splatoon Raiders, as those are the two biggest upcoming titles. Kirby Air Riders just got a mini Direct, so it probably won't be a focus.

Scratching my head trying to think of what unannounced IPs to expect. No Mario platformers since we just had Bananza and Wonder, but maybe a sports title or some other spinoff, also maybe Kart DLC. The next Zelda won't be for a while, maybe they'll tease it but if so it won't be more than a tease. Maybe a mainline Kirby, but maybe they're too focused on Air Riders. Fire Emblem seems likely, we're right about due. Animal Crossing is certainly possible. Maybe Yoshi?

I want to say Rhythm Heaven as my wildcard pick, but that already did get confirmed so I don't even know what else I want. F-Zero and Panel de Pon would be my dream games but I know they're absolutely not happening.
