  • This is a wild take. Did you not see the tens of thousands of protestors in the streets? They were in the streets because Russia was trying to keep Ukraine as a "puppet gov."

Their parliament had overwhelmingly voted to join the EU, but the president refused to sign it under pressure from Russia. The Ukrainians who dealt with decades of subjugation and a literal genocide (Holodomor) clearly no longer wanted to be associated with Russia.

  • I haven't tried Docker Desktop as the other poster mentioned but I use a similar GUI interface called Cosmos Cloud to manage Docker. It integrates a "market" of easily installable docker apps, graphic interface for managing/updating the containers, internal port management and optional reverse proxy/url management for external access, plus a few more advanced features like VPN and OIDC SSO.It's probably overkill for just Jellyfin but if you've been considering trying out other self-hosted services I highly recommend it.

Standalone installation is the way to go: https://cosmos-cloud.io/docs/index/

  • Then I'm not sure what advice we can give you without knowing more about how you installed it and how the file structure and Jellyfin libraries are linked

  • I would guess you have an issue with your docker volume or bind mount then, assuming you built it as a Docker container?

  • How are you trying to run Jellyfin? What part isn't working for you?

I have it as a Docker container in Ubuntu and it works perfectly. The only trick was I had to find jellyfin's internal docker IP address to do the initial Jellyfin server setup steps.

I stumbled across this site the other day and it's incredible - all the official windows ISO's and full activation scripts. Your options are to use his script to activate extended security updates (ESU) for your current windows, possibly modify your windows 10 to the LTSC or IoT LTSC versions, or fresh install either of those LTSC versions. Plain LTSC is expected to receive security updates until 2027, IoT version will receive security updates until 2032.

  • Yeah this change was long overdue. I couldn't believe how complicated the old restore process was, I have a dozen or more other containers running and nothing else was close to that level of complexity

  • I've been using Cosmos for almost a year now, huge fan of it. Makes things super simple for a newbie, but you can still take a peek at how things are working under the hood to build docker management and reverse proxy skills

  • The only upside is as competent people leave, loyal but incompetent people have to do the work instead, which lead to outcomes like the failed Comey and James indictments....but those are hollow victories that are soon overshadowed by the next injustice

  • I'm guessing it must be very plain

  • As always, Democratic work to improve America takes time to yield dividends, which Republicans then get to claim as their own while simultaneously setting up the next problem to be fixed

  • Never heard the original definition lol, I wondered why the AI had such a weird name

  • My biggest problem took a bit to grok

Now that you're on Linux pop Docker on there and install Ollama/WebUI on there so you can run your own grok at home and not have to support yet another horrible company

  • Curious to hear your reasoning? I know that police can force biometric access without a warrant, while they can't with passwords. But I haven't heard of any biometric data leaving the device or any hacks like that?

  • 5 III here and it's generally been good for 3.5 years now, but I've been disappointed to find the fingerprint reader stopped working recently. Apparently this is a somewhat widespread issue due to the narrow, edge-located design that allows too much moisture underneath it.

  • Jfc that Arduino terms update is disgusting

  • This administration is built on the concept of gradually but continually pushing the boundaries of what's legal. First it's using federal troops to guard CBP as they violate constitutional rights, then it's murdering unnamed persons in boats in the Caribbean. Next will be something just a little bit more illegal, and eventually there may come a day where there's something as clear cut as opening up on a crowd of kids. But by then, how are a few troops supposed to prove that this is illegal while not speaking up about whatever they did last? Not to mention the longer this goes on the more they organize the command structure by loyalty over competence.

I don't think we can rely on waiting for a clear cut example like yours, people in power need to be pushing back now or it will be too late
