So here is a first analysys of shares and favs by #Software 👇🏼

There are some missing, maybe because my instance doesn't know about them (I'm getting the number via API), and #Bluesky has some more (but not much). Sadly I tagged #Lemmy/#Piefed wrong, so they could not share/like.

The most surprising part for me is how many of the accounts are bridged via #BridgyFed, it's more than one sixth as far as I can see.

I will look into the data more.

    Fediverse #SocialMedia

  • @squirrel @fediverse

In the original I wrote !fediverse..., I edited the @fediverse... in. That was too late, wasn't it?

  • Fediverse @piefed.social

How far will it go this time?

  • Fediverse @lemmy.world

Haven't posted these in a while, but there's not much change:

  • Technology @lemmy.world

"Construction of the world's tallest #wind turbine is beginning this week in the Brandenburg municipality of Schipkau. [...] The center of the #WindTurbine currently under construction will be 300

  • @jill @heiseBotti @fediverse

And if it's not "just" about the protocol: Who gets to decide about the definition? The people on #Mastodon? The ones on #Misskey? Or Lemmy? And why not the ones on #Threads, which could be soon the biggest part of it (the protocol, I mean)?

  • @jill @heiseBotti @fediverse

No, it isn't. But that doesn't make something part of the #Fediverse, does it? Try following someone with a Peertube-account for example. I dind't find a way, yet it's still a part of the #Fediverse..

I'd say: Fediverse = "connected via ActivityPub"

  • @vowe

  • @gon

I, for example, also count it as verified if an organization links to their account on their website...

  • Fediverse @lemmy.world

I have now found 1070 verified accounts from media organizations in the #Fediverse, but only on #Mastodon, #Flipboard, #Threads, #Bluesky, #Ghost and #Peertube.

  • @MrKaplan

Thanks for the answer and the confirmation.

You're right about it being the default on #Mastodon, but it can be changed now. mastodon.social now sends a simple referrer and where's the harm on a bigger platform with many different users?

Here's a nice explanation for why it could help adoption and help with the visibility of a platform like lemmy.wotld without making users unsafe:https://shkspr.mobi/blog/2024/12/mastodon-now-sends-referer-headers-hurrah/

  • Lemmy.world Support @lemmy.world

Here's a question about lemmy.world: Does it send a referrer, when you open a link there?

  • @woelkchen

Honestly, please tell me more about how I can commercialize this posts. This would make it easier for me to justify all I'm doing here out of interest and goodwill towards #Mastodon etc. Mainly in my freetime, if I may add... (I'm using this account, because this is the one for technical stuff and it has greater reach)

I didn't "mindlessly" tag the Lemmy community, but because I knew, that otherwise it would be very difficult to spread over there.

  • @woelkchen

This is our #instance on #Mastodon, not exactly the same like heise.de. But the same domain, that's right.

I don't argue, that you set your rules. But I still don't see, how this could be considered spam..

  • @woelkchen

Well, the ad for my employer (as an WP-link) came from you, didn't it?

This is not the first such post: I have a tool, that makes it simple to later visualize from where the reactions came.https://social.heise.de/@mho/112965913501761509I think it's quite interesting to compare the promise of the #Fediverse (reach so many different networks) with the reality (it's mainly #Mastodon). And this is a good way, I think. On the other hand, this posts do show, how far your content can go.

  • @caos @fediverse

Thx. I have no article planned, but it's good to know this, if something comes up.

  • Even at the third attempt, it's almost only #Mastodon, from where I see shares. But that again just underscores the dominance of Mastodon. (To be clear, there are others, but I don't see them here)

I think, that's it for me with trying to get a post get a substancial amount of interactions from the rest of the #Fediverse. But that still were some fun little experiments showing the diversity of the software connected in the Fediverse. Thanks everyone for participating!

A post to traverse the Fediverse & beyond :fedi:

  • Fediverse @lemmy.world

So, before beginning my 4 months of parental leave in June, I wrote an article for @heiseonline describing, why one on #Threads should activate federation with the #Fediverse. I did this in

  • Fediverse @lemmy.world

The update for #Mastodon patching the bug in the preview is near, so it's time for a last look at #traffic sources for @heiseonline:
