  • This is my hope. I started eyeballing transition to EV and I would be fine for 90% of my driving but extended trips will require some planning due to the diversity of apps and networks, etc. Looks like some of the charge network apps also require Google Integrity check or whatevs, which sucks for GrapheneOS users.

  • I had to fix some crap in the kitchen and needed custom brackets to attach lighting under the cabinets in certain spots. It is pretty satisfying to go from a few measurements to, in a few hours, having custom parts that 100% did not exist before and couldn't be found in any store.

    PLA+ is an awesome material.

  • Exactly my experience. I had just got a Pixel 7. Travelling with a friend who had the iPhone with Apple proprietary charging port. I got to be like "look what I can do".

    Cool but mostly unnecessary.

  • I must've aged out of literally any demo they are targeting.

I think some of the nostalgia/gaming/collectable stuff was a good addition to their stores but I also didn't buy any of it because I try not to accumulate baubles.

Also they seem to have tripled down on "overly specific demographic" marketing in clothing and whatnot. I'm not the target market for the plus-sized mauve crushed velvet track suit. I'll put it that way.

Their home goods, bronze and brushed silver crap, isn't my bag, nor is overpriced grocery.

  • "It enabled us to shit out products in 4 days."

Glad they incorporated such thorough testing in their process.

  • Yeah, welcome to IT where you basically have to change jobs every 2 years to get paid what you're actually worth. Your alternative is either no raise at all or something that amounts to a "COLA" that doesn't keep up with inflation, and is therefore a passive paycut.

  • I think just going back to internet forums circa early 2000s is probably a better way to engage honestly. They're still around, just not as "smartphone friendly" and doomscroll-enabled, due to the format.

I'm talking stuff like SomethingAwful, GaiaOnline, Fark, Newgrounds forum, GlockTalk, Slashdot, vBulletin etc.

These types of forums allowed you to discuss timely issues and news if you wanted. You could go a thousand miles deep on some bizarre subculture or stick to general discussion. They also had protomeme culture before that was a thing - aka "embedded image macros".

  • Oracle is one of the worst companies in history and it's products are ass.

  • People forget what a ridiculously large steaming market India is.

The second biggest YT channel by subscriber base is T-Series.

  • Several Porsche models, the Mustang EV, I guess the Tesla Plaid if you consider that a "sports" car.

  • A criminal could buy an Ender3 or other extremely ubiquitous, non-internet-connected printer. Maybe used, in cash, on various marketplaces.

Filament can be bought in cash as well from a bunch of retailers and the leftover stock (evidence) easily disposed by dumping or burning/melting after the "suspect objects" are created.

Furthermore, nozzles are like $1 apiece in some cases. Printbed replacements or sheets of glass (also often used as printbed surfaces) are like $20 and can be changed often and easily. Changing these two components completely invalidates the "match" of the toolmarks.

This type of forensics is only practical if the target suspect is dumb enough to use the same settings for everything, never change a nozzle or bed, keep all his empty filament spools and receipts, pay for everything with credit cards in his name, and have a bunch of cloud-saved bambu-sliced files called "super illegal weaponry.gcode" associated with his printer.

  • My regular Pixel 7 (not 7a) has a swelled battery and I can see the screen starting to separate from the rest of the case.

The phone would be otherwise still fine despite being 2 years old. I'm sure even if it was covered, Google would find some way to not repair it under the program because it is a carrier unlocked model running GrapheneOS.

I would opt for third party repair but the place I used for this exact problem before (replacing swollen battery on a Samsung phone) was a little sketchy and when I got it back, there was evidence they tried to rifle through my device.

Aside from taking this to Rossman himself, I'm wondering if there are any other reputable 3rd party repair options.

  • Imagine having your primary export be "brainwashed conscripts who will be used as meatshields on a foreign battlefield".

  • You know, in addition to making risotto, another thing the Italians are pretty good at is making shotguns. So this problem should be solvable.

  • New variety of Cordyceps unlocked.

  • They literally said they color corrected and enhanced parts of it for visibility. So yes, the footage was modified.

  • As it stands, any company of reasonable size has its CEO comms ghostwritten by mid level marketing people or personal admins to the CEO. So statistically that means most of their written messaging is from a 27-year-old white chick with a either a comms, PR, or PoliSci degree who made $71K last year.

So in effect you could have AI churn out the same generic corporate platitudes for the CEO email, and that marketing chick can go back to whatever her actual job duties are supposed to be?
