He is definitely speeding up the inevitable collapse of the U.S. Empire. That is also just the simple fact that the capitalists are running out of ways to sustain their growth so more social spending cuts, stoking foreign conflict, and satiating public demand for a scapegoat is in order.
The thing is though, all of those things will simultaneously increase distrust and alienation when the problems don’t go away.
Reform? No. Tear down to the studs and rebuild? Yes.
Our education system is designed to produce people who can do mindless work without critical thinking. Here in the States at least, it is little more than boot camp for becoming a corporate soldier. Kids are given 40 hour work weeks, told to shut up and conform or face consequences.
Trump might really be the incompetent narcissist the world needs to ruin the American Empire. If China isn’t already a more desirable economic partner than the U.S., they will be soon.
That’s truly shocking because some of the ways Americans talk about black people, Latino people and Muslims is some of the most repulsive garbage I’ve ever heard. And it isn’t just from MAGA chuds but liberals too.
I think this video is well constructed as a sort of introduction to unlearning the anti-Stalin propaganda. Something that well-intentioned liberals may find educational and help them start deconstructing the lies.
I also like the mention of the Trotsky ——> Neocon pipeline. I also use the “evolution” of Christopher Hitchens to describe that phenomenon
That’s just the sad state of mainstream social media now. Facebook comment sections are full of people posting memes that you’d only see on the dregs of 4chan 10 years ago.
I can’t hate on The Deprogram. They create podcasts that are engaging and perhaps most importantly provide a larger platform for a lot of smaller content creators.
Not saying we can’t be critical, we should be critical in a constructive way, but I do enjoy their content. Each of them also have quality, well-researched videos.
I had to give up on Reddit after being on r/communism. I’m sure there are a lot of good users on that platform trying to find meaningful interaction with other communists, but holy shit, so much ideological purity.
People in China have rights and democracy… also the very nature of the CPC and the ACFTU is to band the whole of China’s working people into a union. If the party and the state are in the control of the working class then there’s no need for independent unions
The CPC have the means to seize capital from the bourgeoisie at any point really. Xi and the PSC heavily fined Jack Ma for a speech he gave criticizing financial regulation in the country. They could freeze and seize his assets whenever they wanted.
THAT is what a dictatorship of the proletariat looks like
Ah yes the enlightened centrist. “Just calm down bro” it’s “just an ad for genes (jeans) bro”
