Totally get using others if something isn't working. I've been known to (gasp) throw on another distro to get past a problem until a new kernel release or bug fix comes in, but it's the rarity now. I gotta be honest that I'm surprised it was Debian which solved a corner case for your gaming table. Maybe it was a monitor issue or weird (old) hardware?
Good call on the final pass with Windows. With Steam, you really can't miss on hardly any game these days unless it's bloated with DRM, but who am I to speak - I have XBox that can actively spy on me for those DRMed games... Carry on.
That's crazy talk right there. After decades of who knows how many Linux distros, SunOS/Solaris, HPUX, AIX (and a splash of FreeBSD), the proper answer is this:
Mint
Already correct! >Mint
Mint
Mint - hardened if external
I'll allow it
Non-Linux
por que!? OOF... this should be Mint or really any Linux is better
I'll allow it, though I find OMV to be better for various reasons
Not gatekeeping - just having a bit of fun. You do you, but I found it crazy supporting so many distros after all these years. At some point you go for "works great out of the box with minimal tinkering" that covers like 99% of use cases and frees up your time. That being said I'm sure I have a system or two around here still running Ubuntu or Debian or whatever that I just can't be arsed to change.
I doubt this goes anywhere other than "virtue" signaling to his puppets that he's stronk-man big tough! IANAL, but discovery works both ways. He would have to pony up ALL KINDS of juicy corruption transactions, etc. as soon as JPMorgan claims they closed it over money laundering and fraud. Not to mention that JPMorgan has DEEEEP pockets to fight it. I expect either a very quiet and quick settlement where they just cave to get on his good side or they go balls deep and he withdraws. My money is on the latter. TACO.
Most of us are working on it! And you've just proven my original point. You're absolutely right in protecting yourselves - I was just alarmed that the hatred here seems to have deepened and seems pointed at anything USA instead of at our GOP administration and MAGA shitbirds. It seems we're all being grouped and I can't say I blame anyone for it (just upsetting to see).
Stay strong Canada -our particular brand of billionaire driven fascism is past knocking and already inside your house. I genuinely hope you all do a better job than we did.
It was. And it was due to the tarrifs and uncertain nature (I.e. Trump chaos). Between that and cooking the GDP and Jobs numbers and firing hundreds of thousands of government employees that keep us functioning and you have a shit domestic market to sell into.
We know this and it's grim. We're trying to remain optimistic in order to keep fighting in the face of growing fascism. The alternative is giving in or leaving, which I don't think the world wants to see. I'm just upset that even our northern friends and close ally since WWII think this lowly of the US when we share so many facets of life. It's been eye opening for me (and I'm not quite sure I understand the downvotes even if I appreciate everyone's tough lough messages).
I'll put it another way... If those of us here who are sane fail, Canada and Mexico are likely to be Poland and France. I think Venezuela or Greenland may be Czechoslovakia already. I can only ask you to encourage those of use against this nonsense as the front lines will shift quickly if they start rounding us up here. I'm pleading to your own best interests to stay positive and encouraging resistance instead of doom and gloom.
This makes me more upset than it should. So simpe, yet so painful. Only the truest of the MAGA core leaders believe Canada is anything but a friend and ally and most important trading partner to the US for the last 70 years - like maybe a few hundred people in the US, all with their own insane agenda. The 30% of MAGA that follows whatever those leaders may be lost but, 70% of the country is still pretty WTF about our current leadership's shift to aggression.
4GB? An embarassment of riches in today's market!
